I stood up after the last essay and stretched.
"Alright Ms. Perry, you are dismissed," the twins stated together. Don't they know that is creepy? "We will analyze the data." "And see you tomorrow."
I turned and charged out of the office without another word. My mind was shot. I stomped down the stairs and slid into a car bumping into a body next to me.
"Perry," Angel chocked out. I glanced over. Oh no! What had I done? "I knew you were interested." He turned and grabbed my cheek cupping it in his hand. I moved back.
"Ummm, hi," I stated trying to think of a cover. He looked at me confused. "Alright, I have to go." I slid back out and made eye contact with the concerned driver still holding the door.
"Ms. Perry, are you ready to go home," Helga frowned at me but the spark in her eyes told me she let this happen and was entertained by the results.
I nodded as she led me to the next car. I slid in and hit another body.
"Oh, come on," I yelled out at Helga and then turned to see Pierce looking at me in confusion. "Pierce?"
"Did you need to talk to Angel," he questioned as he looked ahead at Angel now getting out of his car and looking over rubbing the back of his head. Apparently, I confused a lot of people right now. He approached and when he leaned in, I blushed.
"Pierce," Angel blurted out. "What are you doing with Perry?"
"She is living with us right now," Pierce explained.
"Until my parents come back," I blurted out proud of myself for contributing. Angel turned and caught my eye again. He bent down more and rubbed my arm.
"Well, now I know where to come get you for our date," he smiled at me. I pulled back towards Pierce. I wasn't comfortable with his touch.
"Aren't you supposed to ask her first," Pierce growled. His fist clenched near my hip.
Angel shrugged. He winked at me and leaned back out. "We will talk later when we don't have the negativity of this car." Was he talking about Pierce? Pierce responded by banging the roof and Helga pushed in and sat down. The car door slid closed and we left Angel standing on the sidewalk.
"The nerve of that guy," Pierce forced through his teeth.
"Isn't he a friend," I asked looking at my hands. I couldn't figure out was going on anymore.
"Him," Pierce scoffed. "No."
"I don't understand," I shook my head and tightened my hands.
"The titled stick together," Pierce gently graced one of his fingers on mine tracing a scratch. "More for safety than anything. It's not like we enjoy each other. Come here."
He pulled me to him and the warmth started making me drowsy. He gently kissed the top of my head and as much as my mind was demanding I should move, my body refused. I'm an idiot. He is only going to break my heart.
"You are going to say no, right," Pierce whispered into my hair and I turned to look up at his defeated face. I shrugged my shoulders. "Please, Violet."
