I never got the chance to talk to Tacus. There was no need now anyways. Phoenix came back to Grog and now they fought worse than cats and dogs. I had to silence their account just to get any work done of my own. I don't know who this Him is but I keep reading through the contract as if it is going to tell me. Grog has no idea. He just shrugs and coos Phoenix again as if they are dating. It wasn't until a click later that I even noticed that Grog and Phoenix weren't around.
"What are you doing now Pierce," Tacus's voice rang through the speaker. "I am picking up multiple viruses on your account. If you are trying to shut us down again, I will peel your skin from your body and use it as a cape."
"I don't know what you are talking about," I yell back into the intercom. "I only have the two, Grog and Phoenix."
I glance down at the screen as Grog peeks out looking exhausted. In his arms is a bundle of fur of the white variety and I glance at it with more interest.
"Strike that, they are all my viruses," I sigh. "They are no harm to you or your ship."
The silence makes me believe we are in the clear. I tickle the bundle and it starts an ear piercing scream. Grog grumbles at me before rocking it back in forth.
"She was pregnant," I ask and Grog rolls his dark circled eyes. "How is that even possible?"
Grog pops up multiple informational applications on sex and I close them quickly.
"I know how babies are made," I grumble. Grog seems more sarcastic than ever in his tired state. "Congratulations."
Grog gets the crying to stop, flips me off, and then tiredly walks back into the house. I will have to look them up later. If they can reproduce, then perhaps I will have to eliminate them before they destroy the entire electronic existence. For now, I have to focus on Violet. I'm sure it would be an easy fix to repair the electronic existence later.
"Reaching the Axio Comets, Pierce, get to the Oxiotation. It is in.... Tacus just light it up for him. We will only be in port for a few clicks. Be back at these coordinates by then or we leave without you. That is all."
"Tell the whole solar system where I am heading," I grumble taking the two steps to my luggage. I grab the excavation gear and the holding cell from the luggage on the floor. The holding cell, patent pending, should hold my excavated masterpiece until I can get it back to a jewel manipulator. At least, I hope it will. From my bag, I pull out my recovery suit. Hopefully it has enough oxygen in it to grab what I need. I haven't actually done any space exploration outside of a craft before. I pray to the gods above that this goes well. The last thing I want is to die before I can even see her again.
With reluctance, I interrupt Grog. My finger lightly taps against the door and the piercing cries of a million young banshees greet me. I cringe as Grog storms out followed by a boney finger sticking out of the door. The door slams shut behind and I hear the familiar sound of Phoenix crying. I should have known better than to interrupt a newborns house.
"I'm sorry," I state holding my hands up to defend myself. "I need you to record something for Violet in case I don't make it back."
Grog pulls out an old fashion camera and the real starts clicking.
"Violet, if you are seeing this then I didn't make it.........."
The ship is a little crowded. The arrangement of the mechanics isn't meant for all my stuff and me to fit in but I will make it work. The controls are familiar enough. It might take me a second but the mechanic labeled it. I guess he made it idiot proof. I can't help but to chuckle at this.
