He pushed me away suddenly. The emptiness that once was filled by Pierce's body was gone and I felt alone again. With a frustrated sigh, he ran his fingers through his curly locks and turned away from me. Here it comes. The famous three words that every girl desperately never wants to hear out of any guy she just kissed.

"I can't." His low growl of a voice gave away that his body thought otherwise.

"You what?!" I stepped away from him more pulling my hand to my heart as if it was magically broken. I can feel the anger rising in me like a fuse lit on one of those old fashioned mortars in the cartoons. If he doesn't watch his words, kaboom.

"Well, no..... wait.... ummm... I want to.... I've wanted to since I saw those eyes... but ...," he rubbed his hands. Specifically, his right hand rubbed the thumb of the left in a nervous twitch. It was cute to see him squirm. You are arguing here stop focusing on his cuteness.

"I can't believe I thought I had feelings for you," I scoff as I head for the door. Pierce grabs my arm softly and turns me around. I glare at him until I see the plea in his eyes for me to stay and hear him out. My face softens slightly and his face lifts in a chance of hope. His eyes sparkle again and I sigh because I know he has won an explanation.

"Technically," he starts wincing, "I have a girlfriend." I shake my head as I turn to leave. "But it's only at school." He yells as I turn into the hallway. He follows me. I groan in disappointment as I hear his footsteps falling into line next to mine.

"So, what you want me to be your mistress on the side," I snap trying to contain the bomb inside me from exploding. I felt like pushing him over the stair railing. Internally, I am lecturing myself on the stupidity of me liking a guy like Pierce.

"What, no!" He takes my arm leading me into a sitting room and closing the door. "It is just a show at school, you know, to keep the mobs at bay."

I don't bother looking at him. I fume as I huff in a chair and pop up my Comm Unit as if I know any programs besides Phoenix's and the voicemail.

"We could hang out and stuff outside of school, here in the house," he forced out slowly realizing it was a stupid thing to say as he said it. I rolled my eyes with a shake of the head as I tried to concentrate on Phoenix's empty stage setting. She had left my screen awhile back. I think she knew I was angry or something.

"I'm not interested," I grumble as I turn to leave the room. "Just stay away from me, Leech."

"I don't want to lose you," he whispers as I turn the corner and bump into Jon waiting patiently.

"I'm sorry to interrupt, but you have to get ready for your press conference," Jon points down to a schedule I have never seen before. I push it aside as I head for my new room.

"Now, who is the leech," Pierce grumbles out as he turns and heads back to his room. "At least I got into the school without help."

I stop and turn around pointing my finger at Jon as I turn and force the door open to Pierce's room. He sits up from the bed in shock and looks over at me. I decide that I should not leave the doorway or Jon will have to restrain me from killing him. I force my foot like a wedge to keep me there. I glare at him for a second while I take a calming breath.

"How dare you call me that," I scream, so much for the calming breath, and he smirks at me as if he has just won something I hadn't even started.
