Golden Dream

I open the door to my room. There on the neatly made bed sits my bag. I stomp over to it and snatch the small piece of paper attached. Sorry is written across it in huge violet letters. He knew I wouldn't make it off premises all along. I push my bag off of the bed and plop down on it throwing my hands out as I laid there in frustration.

"Could this get any worse," I grumble. It did. A small murmur above me catches my attention. Above my head hovers a small machine in the shape of a ball. They were a childhood staple for me. It is a Trackerbot. I am under house arrest.

Trackerbots were easily programmed with a set perimeter. If the target stepped out of the designated area an alarm sounded and the target had seconds before an alert was sent out. These things are practically indestructible and sadly waterproof. The only way to get one away was to reprogram it and I was terrible at that.

When I was younger, I had a tendency to wander off. After the third time loosing me in the Plaza, my mother invested in an older version of one of these. Something had reflected and caught my eye. Out of curiosity, I traveled to it to discover it was a keychain with a character from the Zugami game. I turned around to show my mother but she wasn't there. I burst into tears when I thought I was all alone in the world.

Now, I laid in bed and cried again because I was all alone in the universe.  Orangello, Tee, and Victoria had all abandoned me. They wanted normal lives. So, we all agreed to separate and never contact each other. In reality, they knew that I wasn't the same as everyone else. My eyes were distinguishable. They left their youngest sibling to face the debt collectors on my own. The worst part, I didn't hate them for it.

I rummage through my bag and pull out the badly scarred Comm unit. I stare at it as I gently scan my hand across. If only I could remember the password. I only had one guess left. I didn't want my data erased if I guessed wrong. There were things in there too precious for me to try. I sighed as I placed it back in my bag and rolled over. Might as well get some sleep. Not like I am going to be going anywhere anytime soon.

I awoke to someone bursting into the room. Pierce stands there covered in sweat as he glances down at me. I was in some rather embarrassing cartoon pajamas. Odd. I don't remember even putting them on.

"Hurry, if we leave now we can escape," he heroically pronounces as he whisks me into his arms. I didn't think he could hold me.

"Where would we go," I meekly question as he rushes down the stairs and out the front door. We hop on his bike and ride off to the shuttle port. There guarding the shuttle is Jon and his Jonions. He pulls a weapon and frowns as we approach.

"I can't let you leave," he coldly states as he points the gun in my direction. Pierce pulls me behind him and draws his own weapon.

"We are leaving Jon," he commands. "I'm sorry it has come to this." His shot makes me scream and I stare as Jon's body hits the ground with a harsh thud. He pulls me past the Jonions and into the private shuttle. I still don't dare to let go of his arm.

"I kept my promise. You are safe now doll," he smirks as he pulls my chin to look up at him. "Now, I believe I have to blow your mind."

As his lips gently touch mine, I fall into his embrace. His tenderness makes me crave more. My heart seems to stop awaiting the hunger to cease in my body. I prod for more against his lips only to be forcefully pushed away.
