Here I was again. Thinking of him. I'd promised myself that I wouldn't care anymore.
" he left," I kept convincing myself. Get a grip, Lindsay. I close my eyes for a fleeting five minutes, and I find myself spiraling back in time, two months ago. The day when it all had started.
It was a saturday. The school Christmas party was to be held in three hours and I had tons of preparations to be doing. a few weeks ago, I'd went shopping with my sister , Tina, and bought the most charming black dress ever. I was going to curl my short hair, the Marilyn Monroe curls. I am not gonna lie, I had high hopes for this party. I'd wished it would turn out to be the total Cinderella ball. I decided it is time to get ready, for an hour from now my cousins will show up, and we will go to the dance together. I put on my dress in an incredible haste, and get busy curling my hair. 30 minutes later I am done. I realize that I need Tina to do my makeup. I was aiming for the total smokey-eyes look. I run towards the living room, where I know my sister would be sitting, like a statue frozen across from the t.v. I slowly move towards her, trying my best to display innocence in my walk. " Tina, I need a HUGE favor, " I am practically singing my line. " Look just go get the makeup kit, Lindsay," she seems amused. I skip towards her closet and grab the kit. 15 minutes later, I am facing my reflection in the mirror. I look completely different, it is somehow appalling. My chocolate brown hair is framing my face, and my hazel eyes are looking very cat-like. I must admit I look rather hot. I am startled by the loud honks announcing the arrival of my cousins. So, I grab my purse and coat, making sure not to waste any time, and head out, silently wishing that my fairytale evening would come true.
