That night, Sting and [Y/N] didn't move themselves from Rogue's room. Instead, they chose to stay with the Shadow Dragon Slayer the entire night, sleeping on either side of him. Kuschel remained on the small, dark red couch that was pushed against the wall, having not woken all day and seemingly quite content to stay wrapped in one of Rogue's cloaks, precisely the old torn one he had worn during the Grand Magic Games.
Rogue was thankful that his two closest friends had stayed with him that night. He hadn't any sure idea why, but he felt that the shadows were coming on stronger that night.
When the morning came, he was, just as usual, the first to awake. [Y/N] was second, however, coughing herself into consciousness. Rogue had quietly asked her whether she felt alright, to which she quickly knowledge and made a short deal of pressing her fingers to her ears. The Shadow Dragon Slayer was puzzled by this, yet chose not to mention it.
Sting awoke shortly afterwards, stretching and yawning obnoxiously. His hand smooshed into Rogue's face, and was as punishment, promptly bitten. He let out an indignant cry and the two began to wrestle like children whilst [Y/N] too yelped, affronted.
Eventually, the White Dragon Slayer slid from the bed, somehow managing to drag the thin cover with him.
"How would you feel about Sting and I taking a job today?" Rogue turned to [Y/N] as Sting tried to scramble up whilst tangled in the cover.
"Just you two?" the Sound Dragon Slayer quirked a brow."Yeah," he confirmed, nodding, "I'd invite you, but, you're hurt. I don't want to put your body under more stress than it can or should take."
"That's nice of you," she said, "but are ya sure I can't go?"
"I'd really prefer it if you didn't. We'll only be away for a day or two. You can hold up the guild by yourself for that long, right?" Rogue asked.[Y/N] grinned almost devilishly at the thought of being the master for a day or few.
"Yeah, yeah. Don't worry, I've got it covered," she said."If I find that you've subjected our guild-mates to anything inadequate when Sting and I return, you know I'll have your head," he replied.
"Will you, now? I could beat you any day, Cheney," she grinned.
"Mhmm, we'll see about that, [L/N]," he replied, pressing a short kiss to the corner of her mouth before getting up. She watched him as he dressed himself, before being alerted by a shuffling from the floor. She quizzically looked over the edge of the mattress and saw none other than poor Sting stuck in the cover completely, trying to escape. She sighed and slowly left the bed, moving onto her knees and slowly but surely freeing the Sabertooth Master."Oh, thanks," he grinned, kicking the cover away and then feeling around for his clothes. [Y/N], in the meantime, got to her feet and began to dress herself as well.
"Where are you off to?" Rogue asked.
"Probably just the guildhall," she replied, "to see Yukino and Minerva, and the others."
"Tell them we say hi," Sting spoke up from the floor.
"Will do," the Sound Dragon Slayer nodded.Rogue and [Y/N] both finished dressing, and then decided to make amusement of their own by watching Sting struggle to dress himself.
"I don't understand why you wear such frustratingly and unnecessarily complex outfits," Rogue commented.
"Yeah. Just wear somethin'... simple? I don't know," [Y/N] agreed.
