"Say, [Y/N], it's been a while since I've seen something so powerful come from you. Battle-wise, I mean."

It seemed things always started with Sting.

"You think?" you replied, absentmindedly watching out of the train window.

"Yeah... since the Grand Magic Games last year, actually," Sting nodded, "when you fought Jenny from Blue Pegasus, right? You entered the Dragon Force then."

"Yeah. My head killed after," you agreed.

"Didn't you come and threaten Jiemma that night?" Rogue commented. Sting audibly swallowed at the mention of Sabertooth's previous master.

"Yeah, with Natsu," you nodded, "what? A lil' headache's not gonna stop me from performing acts of justice. Even if something did happen, Natsu would've just dragged me out and smacked me around until I calmed down."

"I almost fought you guys that night," Sting remembered, almost fondly, "I actually really wanted to. Since Natsu's a longtime idol of mine, and you... well, I'd never really heard much about you. But after seeing you enter the Dragon Force, presumably at will... Rogue and I always thought we were the only Third Generation Dragon Slayers."

You ran your hands through Novalee's hair - her head was on your shoulder, asleep. Your body was turned so you weren't sat back against the seat, since you still had two arrows in your back.

"I actually had the weirdest dream that night," you felt a lot better talking to the two of them, what, with Novalee and the Exceeds fast asleep, "it was, like - you guys were both there - and Laxus and Freed were also there. I was at Fairy Tail's pool, just hanging around, and Laxus and Freed came floating by on a lilo, and he was giving Laxus a back rub like he always does. And then I was suddenly shoved into the pool but it wasn't water and I was floating through space, but then I hit the ground and I turned and you guys were just standing there like the Grady Twins, just staring. I woke up in the middle of the night literally on the brink of tears because I thought you were in my room."

"We're not that scary," Rogue snorted.

"Oh, trust me, you were at the time," you shook your head, "well, think about it. You guys were in the strongest guild on the whole continent for seven years running, and I was in the weakest guild for seven years running. And you're Dragon Slayers, and you were claiming you killed your Dragons with your bare hands. And considering seven years before, my guild mates had been presumably blitzed into nothing by a Dragon, it wasn't the best feeling. Also, Sting's Dragon Slayer Secret Arts. I was almost moved to tears."

"Well, damn," Sting grinned, "didn't think we made such an impression."

"You definitely did," you said, "I remember when I first met Rogue - properly - actually. I thought I was gonna die."

"Oh, yeah. How did you two meet?" Sting asked.

"It was at, like, midnight, in the middle of the street," you explained, "I was going for a little stroll to cool off 'cause Orga's magic freaked me out, and I found Frosch in a flower basket 'cause he'd gone looking for me the night after Natsu and I did that Unison Raid on Jiemma."

"I remember," Rogue nodded.
"Yeah, 'cause you cried about Frosch wandering off by himself," you grinned.
"Did you? Man, you suck," Sting snorted.
