// Weeks Later //
// 2nd P.O.V //

Since the kids from the past had vanished and the job was over, things had been going suspiciously smoothly for you and your guild. The jobs you had taken were all successful and you wondered if you really had gotten stronger.

The gentle twitter of morning songbirds outside your window is what awoke you. For once, you were in your own house, in your own bed. Rogue was coddled up beside you, an arm lazily around your waist. Before you had even properly opened your eyes, you already knew he was awake. It was one his little quirks that you kind of loved about him - always the first to wake, always the last to bed.

"Morning, gorgeous," he hummed as you shifted slightly, craning his neck to press a kiss to your temple.
"Mmm... morning," you sighed groggily.
"Good sleep?" he asked.
"Great sleep," you replied with a satisfied smile.

"Good, good," he said, "you want me to cook up some breakfast?"
"You know me so well," you grinned wider - it was no secret that, after the first taste, everybody loved Rogue's cooking, especially you.

"Ahh, alright," he said, a hint of his smile in his voice, "I made sure we have syrup this time."
"Ohh, pancakes," you almost drooled at the thought.

He sat upright, stretching his arms out. From where you laid, you watched up at him, just taking time to admire him.

After a minute or two, he noticed and looked back at you.
"You're looking at me like I've just saved Kuschel from a house fire," he quirked a brow, "what's up?"
"Oh, nothing," you sighed, "I just have a huge crush on you."

"No way," he said, "that's so peculiar, because I also have a crush on you."
You pulled yourself upright with a grin, pecking him on the lips.

"Ahh! Gross!" Kuschel squeaked from between you and Rogue, "get a room!"
"This is our room," you said with a giggle, "if you have a problem, you don't have to sleep with us."

"No! Kuschel's sorry!" the Exceed squealed. You scooped her up and squeezed her.
"Ahhh, I guess I can forgive you," you hummed as Rogue got out of bed, starting to dress himself.

"What is Rogue making for breakfast?" Kuschel chirped.
"Guess," Rogue replied, seemingly in a cheery mood.
"Pancakes, pancakes!" Kuschel bounced up and down.
"Ding-ding-ding, we have a winner!" you tossed her into the air.

"Hooray!" Kuschel squealed, "pancakes!"

Rogue chuckled.
"I love your enthusiasm, Kuschel," he said, finishing dressing.
"What is that?" she chirped innocently.
"Ah... don't worry," you smiled.

"I'm going to get food started now," Rogue said.
"Oh, careful not to wake Novalee," you reminded, "she needs her sleep."

"I know, I know. I creep around her every morning," he smiled at you.
"Alright," you nodded.

Rogue walked out of the room and you heard him shuffling about in the kitchen moments later.

Kuschel stared up at you.
"What's on [Y/N]'s mind?" she asked. You gave a dreamy sigh.
"Nothing, I'm... just in a good mood," you smiled, slowly climbing out of bed to dress yourself as well. You took your time on picking out a lovely outfit that suited your style choices, and then started to make your way out to Rogue.
