Chapter 4 - Meeting You Again

You would think that our first few runs on this boss would be pretty chaotic if we've got a new player within our ranks.

But in reality, she took total control of the battle field.

"Homiru-san! After I get locked into combat with this thing, please prepare to strike!" Shiina commanded me.

Oh wow, why not?

"Alright then!" I answered.

Shiina then casted an aggro skill that's unique to her class.

"War Maiden's Challenge!" Shiina casted.

This enables Shiina to make one opponent to be completely locked onto her and ignoring the rest of the party.

"Now Saito-san! A stun please!" She said.

"You got it! Shield Bash!" Saito casted.

Shield bash is a simple stun skill, but it's certainly handy even though it's learned by tanks from Level 1.

"And now.... Future Image!" Shiina casted.

It let's her buff the next attack coming fromthe entire party except for hers.

Now that's what I call combat!

I won't let this chance go!

"You're mine! Gram Demolishioning!" I swung my sword and cut the boss in half.

For the 6th time.

Gram Demolishioning is a unique skill given to a player that weilds the False Hope: Gram or it's upgraded variant.

It packs a punch, but leaves me stunned for a few seconds right after performing it.

"We did it! I got the pendant! Thank you so much!" Shiina celebrated.

Only our 6th attempt... that's good news!

"That was magnificent leadership Shiina-san!" Saito praised her.

"Yeah, you even had me tied to your commands!" I said.

"And that's coming from someone who runs off towards fights without a plan in mind! HAHAHAHA!" Saito said.

"Oh quit it!" I retorted.

Shiina laughed at us. She did this by using the "Laughing" emotion that everyone has on their emotion list.

"What's up Shiina-san?" I asked her.

"Well... at first I thought that Homiru-san was someone who just played games because they didn't have anything better to do. But after this run, I realized that even you are having fun when it comes to combat! I admire that part of you now!" Shiina told me.

What's that supposed to mean?! I don't know but I'm super embarrassed! I can tell you that!

"Cat got your tongue?" Saito asked me.

"Let's get a move on! We're heading back to Yuna-san's shop. I have an item upgrade I can give you Shiina-san." I said.

"Eh? What's this for?" She asked.

"I've had this in my inventory for months now, and I don't really have a need to use it so... I'm just gonna give it to you." I said.

"I can't accept that! You've already helped me out so much!" Shiina declined.

"Please, I'd rather give it to you than make it rot in my invetory for years to come!" I said.

"Well then... if you're that persistent, then I'll accept your kind offer! Homiru-san!" Shiina said.

"Look who's being a nice guy and all!" Saito said.

"C'mon we should head back now!" I said.

And with that, we headed back to Yuna-sans shop.

"Yuna-san! we're back!" Saito said.

"They were great help Yuna-san! But I would like to ask you to upgrade something for us, are you tending to customers at the moment?" Shiina said.

"I didn't think it would take us this fast, but that's probably because Shiina here learns pretty quickly!" I said.

I then opened the door towards the inner quarters of the shop so I can finally land this quest a finish.

I'd say... perhaps Shiina-san was right... maybe I've been caught up with a bunch of things and forgot how much fun I had when it comes to combat...

Welp, that's a lot better then.

"Yuna-san, I was thinking that we could upgrade Shiina's pendant since I've been-" My speech was stopped abruptly.

Just what exactly is going on here..?

"Homiru-kun! I see you're back! How was the hunt?" Yuna-san said.

I can tell that Yuna-san was actually nervous because she addressed me as Homiru instead of Hot Milk or Milk Man.

"So you're the Homiru-san Rinrin's been telling me about!" This player said to me.

Rinrin....?

RINRIN-SAN!!!

"Hello Homiru-kun, it's been awhile..." Rinrin said to me.

What...

Why is she here...?

Wait no... say something. Say something.

"Hello... What brings you here?" I asked.

"This is Ako-chan, she's a friend of mine. And we we're looking to upgrade her sword for her here at Yuna-san's shop." Rinrin said.

"Look here! Isn't this cool?" Ako said.

Ah, it's that sword.

"It's Seraphiel's Claw. I see that you've upgraded The Fallen Angel's Respite." I said.

"Yeah! It got a new name!" Ako said.

"Did you know, that it doesn't only get a new name, but you get a pretty cool skill with it too?" I told her.

"Whoah really? How do you know something like that?" Ako asked.

"He's the white haired swordsman I told you about earlier that had the same sword with him back in the day. I'm sure he can show you some neat tricks Ako-chan!" Yuna-san said.

Whoah now. Since when was she that close to her?

"Well then Ako-chan, I don't mind accompanying you and teaching you about this new sword of yours." I offered her my aid.

"I'd love that! But..." Ako then changed her mood.

"What's wrong?" I asked her.

"Rinrin, are you okay with this?" She suddenly asked Rinrin.

I honestly don't know how to speak to her right now, but I do know that I shouldn't be rude.

"Of course it's fine with me Ako-chan! Knowing that Homiru-san is teaching you puts me at ease!" Rinrin said.

Heh... hearing her say something like that...

"Then let's go then! Oh, you probably already know but I'm the Demon Princess Ako! Bow down before my everlasting..." Ako struggles to finish her sentence.

"Greatness!" Rinrin butted in.

"Greatness!" Ako finished.

So she's that kind of person... Well, there's nothing wrong about that.

"Let's head out, are you coming Rinrin?" I ask her.

Me suddenly confronting the person that rejected my feelings, I wonder why I'm acting a little different from how I usually am?

That encounter was finished with me and Rinrin meeting again, Saito suddenly not knowing how to act and what to say, and with Shiina-san with a sudden change of mood.
