Chapter 24 - Rumors

Walking to school with a stinging sensation in my heart isn't normal....

I used to walk to school with the excited feeling that I get to test out the HorizOne for the first time when I get home from my part time job but...

Just knowing that Shirokane-san might be there as well kind of puts me in distress....

"Why did things have to come to that..." I said and yawned.

Ughh... I didn't get enough sleep last night...

"Someone didn't get enough sleep last night..." Said the person that was behind me.

I turned around to see Shuuna.

She seems to be walking to school as well.

"Shuuna? What a coincidence... I don't often see you here at this time..." I said.

"I do take this path as well, just a little bit earlier than this..." She said.

Oh, I see. I understand completely.

"Seems like someone overslept for a few minutes..." I said.

"Be quiet." She silently scolded me.

My call with Shuuna ended up being super lengthy, so we got to sleep around 3 in the morning.

We talked about what happened last night and a bunch of random stuff that came into her mind.

"So, why exactly are you walking with me?" I asked her.

"Why? Can I not accompany you to walk to school?" She asked.

"No but... no one else has seen us together before... if someone sees this.... they might think we're going out..." I said.

"Oh please.... something like this wouldn't start rumors about us going out Anon-kun." She said.

"It would if you don't stop calling me by my first name..." I said.

She's right. There's no way that just from us walking to school together once, would we get rumors about us going out although out the campus

But that's exactly when those rumors started spreading.

Lunch rolled around, and im starting to feel the stares that are coming from a lot of people in the classroom.

"Hey Anon.... is it just me or..." Saito starts asking.

"Then I guess that means that it isn't just me..." I said.

Another student came up to me and finally started asking the questions.

"Hey, Anon! Are you going out with the Student Council President?" He asked.

I figured... but why?!?!

"No I'm not... what made you think that?" I asked.

"Well, you were walking with her on the way to school today." He said.

"That doesn't mean we are going out! We were just walking!" I said.

Another student came up to me and added something.

"My friends at the track and field club said that they saw you and the Student Council President walking home after school the other day!" He said.

Uhm...

"I just accompanied her to a shop that I knew. She didn't know where it was, so I showed her the way..." I said.

Managed to break free from that one...

Then, a female student hopped in on our conversation.

"I was waiting for my friend the other day at the station when I saw you meeting up with the Student Council President! You both were casually dressed, so we thought you were out on a date!" She said.

Shuuna.... at times like these... I don't know what to say because you, in fact, called it a date!!!

Two female students hopped in again.

Oh please don't....

"We were in the Stirbucks you and the Student Council President went into later that day. Did you perhaps go on a date with her??? what's the tea???" They asked.

The questions kept going on and on and on... I could barely defend myself.

It's like the story of the spear and the shield. Except this time, there's multiple spears, and my shield is cut in half because I can't defend myself from half of their questions....

"Excuse me, Is Anon-kun here? Do you mind fetching him for me?" Said someone at the door.

That voice.... oh dear god no...

"Anon-kun! The President is here looking for you!!" The female student goes.

The room had an uproar. Everyone was cheering for some reason.

"What could the President want with me?" I asked Shuuna.

"I need you to come with me. We have a lot of talking to do~" She said.

That smile. Ohh god that smile isn't very convincing at all.

"How much do you know?" I asked.

"Just enough to drag you out of that room and take you to my office to talk." She said.

"So basically.... everything?" I assumed.

"That's correct!" She replied as she slammed her desk with her hand.

So apparently, a lot of students saw us on various occasions, and it all stacked up to the point where they started spreading rumors that me and Shuuna are dating.

The thing is... they saw us when Shuuna invites me out for a date so... I can't exactly say they're wrong!!!

"What are we gonna do about this?" Shuuna asked.

"I don't know. I was actually gonna ask the person that jokingly dragged me into a date without thinking that there might be people there that knew us." I said.

"I deeply apologize." She said.

I have conquered the Shuuna.

"Instead of apologizing, shouldn't we think about how we can kill this rumor?" I said.

"True, but this rumor is spreading faster than wildfire..." She said.

"That's it! Anon-kun! Get a girlfriend!" Shuuna said.

I immediately gave her a chop on the head.

"That's probably your most hurtful retort yet..." Shuuna said.

"It'll get more painful if you keep pushing my buttons." I said.

"I will proceed to keep quiet." She said.

I really have conquered the Shuuna.

"But really Anon-kun... maybe it's time you should look for other girls?" Shuuna asked me sincerely.

"I keep telling you... I don't want to. After I'm in love with Shi-" I said but then stopped.

I immediately found out that I was about to say something incredibly stupid out of the blue.

"So you're still in love with her huh...." Shuuna said.

"Moving on couldn't be that fast okay..." I said.

"You're correct. Unless someone really isn't moving on..." Shuuna said.
