Meetings and Makeup

It was now Monday and Richard was sitting in his office. He was looking over paperwork for his client. It was pretty much what he was expecting from this client. It will be relatively easy to win. Richard tried never to be over confident. If you think there is a chance of losing you will be more vigilant with all the details of the case. He has seen to many lawyers get over confident and then become cocky. They were good lawyers but, in the end, they always slip and mess up.

Richard was actually waiting for the client to come in for a meeting. The case will be in court in two days and they needed to go over what to expect. They had this meeting a few times before but he likes to have it every time. This way they are all on the same page. They also need to talk about his latest favor he turning it. It is essential for it to happen.

Thinking about that favor Richard took a break from the paperwork and pulled out his phone. He checked Sarahs phone tracker to make sure she is at work. He smiled when he saw that she was. While he hated that she worked (especially at a construction site) he liked that she was always where she was supposed to be. Like a good girl.

He decided to look through her messages and pictures. He noticed that Sarahs 'friends' had sent her a few messages. He noticed they were sent recently and that his Baby Doll more than likely haven't noticed them. He decided that Sarah didn't need to read them. Especially since it seemed like they appeared to be apology texts. His Baby Doll definitely didn't need to read those messages. So, Richard deleted the messages. Just as he was looking at some of her latest selfies his client walked in.

They had talked about the case and it was just typical stuff. Richard went over what he should expect in court, what he should and shouldn't say and all of that jazz. When that part of the meeting was done with it was time to talk about the favor Richards need. Richard hated that he had to use one of favors with this client for this but he had no choice.

"That is no small favor you are asking. I had some of my people look over our accounts. Pulling our investment from the construction company won't hurt us much. We can just invest the money in something else. Since this is a big favor that I am granting it will use up two of your favors. Which will mean that you are almost out of them. Now I must ask why do you need such a big favor?" His client leaned back in his chair and asked.

Richard had to be careful with what he said. He wasn't an idiot. He knew who his client was and what he is capable of. Hell, Richard was able to get some of his men out of trouble for some of the things they have done. He didn't want them to know about Sarah. He hated that they knew about Kevin.

"I thought you didn't ask about the favors I ask of you. It isn't that your whole thing for people you owe favors to? No questions asked. Sooner you get them done the better. Am I wrong?" Richard said to his client.

His client nodded his head. "You are right. I won't ask anymore. The investment will be pulled in a few days. I hope for whatever reason you need me to pull the investment will make you happy."

With that Richards client walked out. With his client gone Richard felt more relaxed. He truly doesn't believe that his client would do anything to cause harm to him but you never know with those type of people. With that meeting done Richard finished some other paperwork for other cases. When he was done, he closed up his office and headed home.

A few days later Kevin is taking a walk in the city. He needed some air to clear his mind. He unfortunately had to fire some people today. Kevin had tried to give the managers that had been abusing their power a chance to apologize and to change their ways. Out of three of them only one succeeded. All three apologized and they made it seem like they changed how they treated the newer staff. Two of them turned out to be idiots.
