Chapter 44

"I can't believe you're leaving tomorrow." Tellus said in a lonely tone. I looked at him and nodded. "Yes, it's been a long time since I left my home."

"Can't you stay?"

"Even if I wanted to, I shouldn't." And I let out a bitter smile. I'm ready to go back to my old life now... or I think I am.

"I really had the best years with you though. I'm just sad that it'll eventually end. How is it for us now?"

"What do you mean?" Tanong ko. Don't tell me he caught feelings for me 'cause this is gonna be worse.

"I mean after all, we are friends... Aren't we?"

"Yes..?" Nagdalawang isip pa ako bago sagutin ang tanong niya. The word "friends" is still triggering to me. Pero totoo naman, kahit naman hindi ko aminin, alam ko sa sarili ko na pinagkakatiwalaan ko siya. Iyon naman ang ibig sabihin ng magkaibigan di'ba? Kapag pinagkakatiwalaan niyo ang isa't isa.

Tellus has been keeping me company for the last three years and I like being around him. He just so cute, cheerful and bubbly. Pero lahat ng iyon nagbabago kapag nasa kwarto niya na kami. He's so wild and freaky.

"Then how can we contact each other? I mean, friends talk too you know even if it's not consistent." Saad niya. Ininom niya naman ang kape na hawak niya.

"Tellus, I'll always find you. I mean you are the CEO of  the biggest company in your city. It won't be hard for me to find you." Natatawa kong sagot. Marami na ring napagdaanan ang kumpanya niya nitong mga nagdaang taon at masasabi ko na mas lalo niya talaga iyon pinalago dahil sa kanyang talino at husay.

Hindi naman kami pinag-uusapan ng aming mga katrabaho o baka hindi ko lang talaga alam. I simply do not care about it anymore and besides, we always keep it civil especially when we're at the workplace.

"But what about me? How can I reach you?"

"I'll be the first one to call you, okay? You don't have to worry that much." I said and smiled. Ngumiti rin siya pabalik sa akin.

"Okay then."

We continued to walk around the city. Tellus and I packed my things earlier and we're just enjoying the moment right now. I'll leave in the morning and I haven't slept since last night. I don't know why but I'm just so nervous to go back.

It's been a long time and what would I even say to him?

What would he even say to me?

And for all of the wrongdoings I made here I know he'll despise me for the rest of his life.

My whole body went cold when I saw his familiar physique from afar. No, it can't be him. Hindi ako makapaniwala sa nakikita ko ngayon. He was holding a little girl on his hand and he even opened the door of the car for her.

"Vlad?" I said.

It's like the world stopped for a moment and the snow started to fall. Mabilis silang nawala sa paningin ko dahil sa mga tao at wala na rin ang kotse noong pagtingin ko ulit.

"Celaine? Are you okay? What Vlad are you saying?"

Nabalik ako sa reyalidad nang may humawak sa braso ko. I gasped when I saw Tellus getting worried. "Huh? I-I mean I'm feeling bad." Palusot ko. Napako pa rin ako sa kinatatayuan ko ngayon. My hands were already trembling and my heart started to pound real fast.

"Come on let's go back home. I already said that you should limit your caffeine intake but you never listen." Aniya at hinila ako pabalik. We walked towards his car and I just when silent when he was driving.
