.Hoseok.

"You sure you don't wanna stay at my place for the night?" Yoongi looked over at me as we sat across from each other in his limo.

"If I did, I'd be eating breakfast with your dad." I rolled my eyes.

"Well, he's gonna have to get used to it if he wants an invitation to the wedding." I could only look over at him and chuckle. I'll never get used to this.

"Maybe if I can get into a good college, I'll prove him-"

"You don't have to prove him anything. I have a secret weapon against him if he doesn't give me what I want." Yoongi crossed his arms, his eyes concentrated on mine. I paused and waited for him to continue. "I'd rather give up all of my money, my clothes, my valuables..." He sighed, "Than live how he wants me to. The only thing I oblige with are his rules for Holly, but that's only because Holly struggles to climb stairs anyway. My point is that, his threats don't scare me."

"You're not the one that he's threatening, Yoongi..." I exhaled and looked away from him.

"If he threatens you, then he threatens me. And I know he doesn't want to be known as the government official that drove his only son into poverty. He says it's our reputation but... his reputation is more important to him than I am. My respect for him is sparse." His eyes dropped from mine, as did the volume of his voice. I could tell that this topic was a touchy subject, regardless of how much he tried to make it seem like he had it under control. "I don't want you uncomfortable like this. I don't need all that stuff that he holds over my head. Holly and I will live in the sewers if it'll get him to leave you alone." His crossed arms dropped to rest in his lap.

"You've never spoken so sincerely before. It's shocking." I exhaled through my nose with a small smile. "I'm sure it'll never come to that, anyway."

"It will. Especially because my friend group is more than just Jin and Tae now. If he ever found out about Jungkook, he'd have an aneurysm." His posture relaxed and he smiled. "It's best that I start with you. If he loves me even a tiny bit more than his money, he'll realize how much you mean to me."

"You're so mushy sometimes."

"I'm also pretty hard some-"

"We've arrived, Mr. Min." The driver announced. Yoongi and I shared a silent smile as we both got out of the car.

I stepped out into the parking lot of Namjoon's apartment complex, Yoongi rounding the limo to stand in front of me.

"Remember what I said. If you ever see my dad on the streets, keep your head up and show your beautiful smile. Maybe a little bit of optimism will brighten his fuckin day or something." He leaned on the vehicle beside me as I picked up my bag from inside it and swung it over my shoulder.

"Did you drink at Jin's house?" I laughed, my hand over my mouth.

"Just the tiniest bit of Chardonnay." He brought his fingers together. "The stress of our performance gave me a huge headache so I improvised on the remedy."

"Ah, I don't even want to think about it. I've never felt more scared in my life." We both looked down as my hands started up shaking again. He held one in his own, his other hand retreating into his blazer pocket.

"I'm proud of both you and Namjoon. I'm sure that you wearing a mask all the time correlates with why you were so nervous. And for you to step in front of all of those eyes and rap like you did, you might as well have gotten on one knee and taken out a ring because that sealed the deal for me."

"S-stop, Yoongi." I playfully nudged his shoulder, "You did much better than either of us."

"I know, but text me later. I'm assuming that you'll be catching a ride with Jin since he'll be picking up Namjoon. I usually wouldn't allow this but, telling people what to do gets tiring."
