.Jin.
Jungkook came home with me after school, so after dropping off our school stuff at my house, we went out to get some lunch.
"What do you wanna eat Kookie?" I asked him as he sled into the limo beside me.
"Can we get ramen... hyung?" He was very hesitant to speak.
"Sure? What type?" I smiled.
"Um... any kind.. is ok."
"Are you okay Kookie?" I finally asked. He nodded and looked out the window. "Take is to my favorite ramen place please." I spoke to my driver. I didn't want to pester him but it looked like something was wrong. "Is everything okay between you and Tae and Jimin?" I asked again. He looked over at me this time. He didn't answer and just looked at me. His lips trembled and he just turned back around to look out the window again.
"J-Jimin ..hyung... doesn't like... Ko- me.. He doesn't like m-me anymore... and it's my... fault." He stuttered out at the window.
"What-"
"Is okay though." He wipes his eyes. "He's probably been wanting to get rid of me anyway." He chewed on his bottom lip as his neck veins pulsed, clearly holding in sobs.
"Don't say that Jungkook, do you know how much Jimin loves you? He's acting the way he is because he's scared and he's frustrated too." I explained softly.
"H-he's scared..?"
"Yes, he's terrified of losing you. And because of your bond, it's just as hard for him that it is to you, to allow himself to let you attach to someone else." I spoke slowly, trying my best to make it clear without confusing him.
"He d-doesn't have to let me go.." he sniffled and wiped his eyes. "Kookie can love all..." I let out a sigh and reached over to hold his hand.
"That's the problem. Kookie can't love all... the sad truth is that you have to pick between them..."
"B-but when I picked Taehyung, Jimin hyung got sad..."
"He's sad because he's finally letting you go. It doesn't mean that he's going anywhere, it just means that he can't force you to only depend on him."
"B-but-"
"We're here, Mr. Jin." My driver announced. I have Jungkook a small smile and squeezed his hand.
"Let's go in."
...
"I'm not saying that Jimins a bad hyung, I'm just saying that I'm a better one." I spoke with a mouth full of noodles. "Has Jimin ever treated you to ramen?" I paused to swallow. "Don't answer that." Jungkook giggled with cheeks full and noodles still hanging out of his mouth. He was determined to finish his meal first, but little did he know, there was a lot more where this came from.
"Finished! I won!" He nearly choked on his first breath after gulping an entire bowl of noodles down in one go. I showed him the inside of my bowl with a grin, proving that I finished first. "You cheated." He pouted and crossed his arms.
"DID NOT!"
"DID TOO!"
"PROVE IT!" He went silent.
"...cheater." He mumbled under his breath in pout.
...
Within the next minute, there were two more bowls of noodle soup on the table to devour- I mean enjoy.
"Are you and Namjoonie hyung dating?" Jungkook cheesed cheekily at me. I nodded confidently, setting down my chopsticks and preparing to go into full detail, when suddenly Jungkook burped and his attention was on something else.
"Jungkook-"
"Ooh. His shoes are cool." He looked at a passerby through the window.
"Jun-"
"I wonder what Taehyung is doing." He mumbled softly to himself while pushing around the noodles with a chopsticks.
"Jungkook." I reached over the table to grab his cheeks and turn his face to me.
"Hello hyung!" He smiled sweetly. Did he... forget I was here?
"Jungkook when was the last time you went to the doctors for a check up?" I let go of his cheeks but kept my eyes on him.
"Ummmmm..." He looked up and pursed his lips. "Can't remember." He just shrugged. "Why do you ask hyung?"
"I'm worried about this memory that you have. How have you made it this far in school when you can't even remember someone sitting right across from you?"
"School is easy. But Jimin hyung says that the stress of socializing makes my big boy brain erase times when I'm around people." He smiled as he restated word for word.
"Really?"
"Mhm! But Jimin hyung is my happy place. He says I'm calm with him so my social anxiety doesn't activate. I don't want to replace him for Taehyung because I can keep my memories with Jimin hyung." He spoke in pout again.
"You don't have any memories of Taehyung?"
"Ummm a few. But most of them are watching him beat my hyungs." His jaw tightened a little. "But there's one... on the night of the first snow... when I got to see the real Taehyung.... and I liked it.." A very small smile crept onto his lips as he stared into his bowl.
The night of the first snow?? But... didn't they have like a huge fight that night? That was the night that made Jungkook start to like Taehyung?
"Why that night?" I raised an eyebrow.
"I dunno, his personality is the opposite of Jimin hyungs. It's big and loud and spontaneous. And Jimin hyung is soft and small and careful. But he paid for my food, and he kept me company as I walked. And he was funny. And then... it wasn't so funny anymore." He finally looked up at me. I decided not to ask anymore questions and just reached across the table to ruffle his hair.
"You're doing great Kookie. Wanna get some desert before we leave?"
"YES."
...
I dropped him off at home after our dinner, however, desert turned into seconds, seconds turned into appetizers, appetizers turned into main course, and main course turned into 4 bowls of ramen each, again. Believe it or not, the restaurant was closing and we couldn't eat it all so we got it all packed up to go.
I helped Jungkook carry the food into his home very carefully. However, once I turned around with the bags in my hands, I was confused to whether Jungkook left the door open or not because the inside of the house was completely pitch black.
I very carefully walked inside, since it was even darker on the inside.
"Jungkook?" I asked softly.
"Yes hyung?" He was apparently right in front of me.
"Why didn't you turn on the lights?" I asked again. There was a pause, and then a click.
"Sorry," he held out a flashlight. "Is that better?" He smiled. I tilted my head.
"Do you live alone?"
"Mhm." He nodded.
"Did you pay your bills?"
"Mmhm." He shook his head. I sighed and pursed my lips. "But sometimes if I get lucky, Hobi hyung will pay them by surprise." He smiled.
"Jungkook pack a bag, you're gonna stay at my house for a little while."
