Third person P.O.V
"Clifford! You're late!" Ashton shouted as Michael jogged up to the bus outside the hotel.
"I know, sorry," he breathed, trying to catch his breath from sprinting.
"Just get your ass in there next to Luke," Ashton sighed, not in the mood to argue.
"L-Luke?" Michael questioned, stepping on to the first of the three steps leading up.
"Yes, now go, we're gonna be late for the first day of the convention." Ashton pushed him up the rest of the stairs, and gave him a shove down the walkway.
Michael awkwardly took his seat next to Luke, who didn't even bother to look at him, he was too busy listening to music with his head rested against the window. He was still tired, even after getting a whole night's worth of sleep.
About halfway to the place where the convention was, Michael hesitantly tapped Luke's shoulder, making the boy's eyes flutter open.
"Hm?" Luke hummed, stretching and rubbing his eyes like he had actually been asleep, even if he wasn't.
"L-Look, I'm sorry about... earlier. I didn't think you were still there, so I just walked out without a... yeah, I think you get it," he explained, turning away from the blonde after trailing the words off.
"Mikey?" Mikey. Butterflies. Cue the butterflies.
He turned back, "Y-yeah?"
"Sorry about last night," Luke said, only loud enough for him to hear since they were still on the bus, and Luke didn't really feel like anyone knowing he actually talked around people.
"Oh."
"Why?" Luke questioned.
"Why what?" Michael asked, considering Luke's question was pretty vague.
"Why do they do it?" Luke corrected.
"Well, my mum doesn't do anything usually, but she does just stand around and watch to whole thing. It really pisses me off," the green-eyed boy explained, figuring that he at least owed the guy some sort of an explanation.
"But why does he do it?"
"I don't know, he's always calling me a fag, so I'm assuming most of it's from me being gay." Michael shrugged, like it was nothing; like he was used to it.
"You're really gay?" Luke asked.
"Yeah," Michael laughed, "I think I would know."
"Right," Luke mumbled, looking away from the boy.
"Look, dude, just don't worry about me, I'll be fine. Promise," Michael assured him, but deep down inside he knew he wouldn't ever be able to keep that promise.
Luke just sighed, leaning back into the seat, closing his eyes again. But they were soon snapped back open once Ashton stood up and grabbed everyone's attention.
"Okay, so here's how this day's going to work. First thing is that as soon as we get off the bus, we're going to go to the first competition of the day. Next, you guys will be free to do whatever, just don't leave the building unless you're going back to the bus for something. After a bit of exploring, we will all meet up at the food court for lunch. After that, you're free to roam again. We'll meet back up at the bus at four, then we'll head to dinner. Are we clear?"
"Crystal," everyone mumbled.
"Fantastic," Ashton cheered, sitting back down in his seat.
"He's like a teacher," Luke muttered under his breath, making Michael nod and chuckle in agreement.
"Or like a dad," Michael added, causing Luke to laugh this time. And Michael was pretty sure that Luke's laugh could light the whole fucking world, because, damn, it sure lit up his.
"Daddy." Luke smirked, nudging Michael with his elbow as the two quietly laughed.
"Oh my god! That's so accurate," Michael exclaimed through a giggle. Man, did that make Luke's insides turn.
The two boys basically acted like this the whole rest of the ride- just giggling and laughing to each other. No one even noticed the two, but it's not like they wanted to be noticed. They just needed to be noticed by each other.

It may be all happy, and it seems like things are starting to get better, but be prepared for some depressing and emotional shit in the next few chapters. Just a warning
