63 : Reborn

It took two days to arrive at the town of Alvellor. It was a town surrounded by massive trees and mountains, making it likely to become monsters’ nest. It was a dark forest before but people began to live there because of its high resources. There are rivers nearby and the massive trees can produce many different products. The town of Alvellor is the Empire’s greatest source of papers, wool, and furniture. Now that the town is almost wiped out by the monsters, they need a big renovation and rehabilitation of the area.

After three years, the town was still in the state of rehabilitation and people could go back to their homes not until it was reported that there is an infectious disease that is caused by the monsters’ blood if the place would not be thoroughly sanitized. This is the reason why the place is under strict surveillance and people must not come as they please without proper implementation of safety precautions.

When Emperor Darya arrived at the vicinity, she was immediately guided by doctors and reported the current situation. She listened to them and advised them to do something. So then, she looked up to the bright sun above her. She then looked around and walked around the town with General Theobarlt on her side.

“He does not come to where it is stinky or crowded.” That was the first characteristic of the place that they should consider. It was mentioned by Zale.

So they went to the secluded area, near the forest and a mountain in the front.

“He prefers a quiet and solemn place where there are trees around and a river flowing.”

There are four rivers from different directions. The first one was in the front of the town like an entrance. So it is not quiet. The second river is on the left side of the town. It was the main source of water of the town because of its mild flow and cold temperature. However, it is not secluded with trees. Thus, it could only be the third and the fourth river…

This river is known to be a twin river. It is a twin falls from upstream containing one head but has two bodies separated by an overhang cliff. It was located in the top of the mountain and it is not gradually used because of its strong water flow and its plunge pool had dangerous inhabitants such as venomous snakes. The people are too afraid to use its steam, fearing that there might be venomous snakes that will appear.

Darya and Desmonde hiked to the forest with only their swords and fruits to eat. Their mouths and nose are covered to avoid infectious disease. They are also wearing gloves as per required by the researchers. Upon arriving at the plunge pool of the twin falls, their clothes are starting to get wet because of the strong steam of the waterfall, producing rain-like phenomena in some parts of the forest. They had to look up to the upstream to look at the cliff hanging on top. That place is the perfect candidate for Zale's description.

“Are we going up?” Desmonde looked at her, thinking that it would be impossible for them to climb up to the upstream. It would also not be good for the Emperor to keep jumping to the trees upwards.

Darya shook her head, “That god must have felt my presence ever since I came to the town. He will eventually go down—

She was not able to finish her words as a blinding light appeared from upstream. The light was going down with the waterfall like a glowing snowball. It landed on top of the water in the plunge pool. The waterfall does not hit it. The light finally dissipated into manageable light, making them see a human-figure wearing a loose long dress. 

Its whole body is pure white and its height is as tall as a massive tree. His hair is like a flowing waterfall, it covers the whole plunge pool. The wind felt so warm, driving one to feel comfortable and sleepy at the same time. Moreover, no one can define its face. The perfect word to describe its face is “ineffable”, which means that it is so beautiful that no exact words can describe it.
