James POV

Natasha and I immediately met Steve at Thanos' building. I brought all the guns I could fit on my body, as did Nat and Steve. We got there in less than 10 minutes.

I took no time to burst in the office, immediately pointing my gun at the secretary, "where. is. Thanos."

"I- I don't know I'm just a secretary!" She exclaimed, "I have a husband and kids!"

I placed the gun to her head, looking at everyone on this floor, "tell me where he is or i shoot her. Do you think I give a fuck about your family when mine is in danger? No. You have 10 seconds."

"10."

"9."

"Please somebody!" She exclaimed.

"8."

"7."

"6."

"5."

"4."

"Guys please!"

"3."

"2."

"Okay okay!" A man said as he hopped up, "he's at this address. Said he's on a special trip with some woman."

"Jessica," I whispered to myself, turning to the man, "if this address is wrong, I come back and kill all of you. Understood?" They all nodded, their eyes wide with fear. Huh. That was easier than I thought. "Nat let's go. Now."

"Already on it," she smiled, and Steve pulled up with the car.

"Come on guys we have a rescue mission!" He exclaimed, and Nat and I raced to the car. The only thing I could think about was if Jessica was okay. If she was safe. If she was hurt. It made my heart pound on the way to that location. I couldn't stop seeing the picture of being too late to the scene and her already being dead.

The location was in the middle of nowhere, which was probably why it would've taken so long to find if I hadn't found that business card. We got there at dark, and Steve made sure to turn off his lights to make sure we weren't noticed. I loaded my guns, my eyes locked on the mission. I nodded at Steve and Natasha before kicking down the door to find three men sitting on the couch talking about a woman.

"Dude she's so fucking annoying," one man said, "she won't stop telling me random facts." That's Jessica all right. Now where the fuck is she? Nat took care of the first three men, and Steve took care of whoever ran out so I could find Jessica.

Jessica POV

They had broke me. I was wet, cold, and freezing in the tiny concrete box I was stuffed in. My legs were up to my chest, and I hugged them to my body to try and keep warm. I was crying, and I couldn't feel my toes. I just wished it would all be over. It hadn't even been a full day yet, and they cracked me that easily. Well, they cracked me in my cage. Not when I saw them. I was still the confident, snarky Jessica they knew really well by now.

And then I heard my name. "JESSICA? JESSICA DOLL CAN YOU HEAR ME?"

James.

"YES YES JAMES IN HERE!" I screamed, my lungs barely even able to take it, "HURRY PLEASE!"

And then I heard my cage rattle, and it opened. Am I dreaming? Because I saw those beautiful blue eyes frantically looking for me. And when they saw me, he let out a sigh of relief. I threw myself into his arms, bursting into tears.

"Shhhh, I've got you, I've got you," he whispered, pulling me close to his body, "you're safe now. Shhhh."

I sobbed. Tears drenched his suit as I clutched onto his body, "what took you so, l-long?"
