A month had passed, and James and I had become so much closer both physically and emotionally. We were always on the same page, whether we were cooking together or just talking about random things. Today, being the 11th of December, was the first day it snowed outside.

James and I had decided to spend the day walking around town before I had a meeting with Carol, and when the first snowflake landed on my palm, my eyes lit up in joy. "James, look! A snowflake!"

His hand pulled mine closer to him for him to investigate, "beautiful doll."

"That means it's snowing!" I smiled, "I haven't seen snow in years!"

"But we live in New York," he laughed, "how have you not?"

"Because I always went to Cali to work at my beach house to not deal with the cute couples," I admitted, and James raised a brow, "in not lying James. I'm being 100% fact."

"I never said you were lying doll."

"Well you're looking at me like you think I'm lying," I sighed, "what time is it?"

"3:30."

"Ah shit i have to go," I frowned, "I'll see you later?"

"We live together so I expect to," he laughed, and I rolled my eyes, "yes doll. Ill see you later."

"Bye I love you," I rushed as I gave him a quick kiss and jogged the other way towards my office. My new assistant Beatrice followed me down the hallway while trying to explain why Carol set up this meeting in the first place.

"She called because she wants to discuss your partnership on drugs," she smiled as we walked down the corridor.

I don't have any partnership with her.

"Get Sam on the line," I ordered, "tell him I need him here stat. Also inform James."

"Yes ma'am. I'm on it," she smiled before running back off to do whatever the fuck she was going to do next. And while we waited, I made my way to the meeting room to see Carol. I straightened up my posture and my face, opening the door to see Carol sitting in my main chair.

"Jessica."

"Bitch," I spat, "you wouldn't come here unless it for a good reason. What the fuck is going on with you?"

"I have a warning."

"Oooooh a warning," I frowned, "sooooo scary."

"Give up the reign of terror," she replied, leaning back in my chair, "and give it to someone worthy of leadership. Like your mom!"

The corners of my mouth turned down as I leaned against the doorframe, my arms crossed against my chest. "What makes you think I'm going to just give up my leadership position to my psychotic mother?"

"Because I know things that you don't," she smirked, "and I would suggest before your time is up to complete what she wants and just give her the power."

"I don't think so," I spat, "she's a fucking lunatic who is power hungry and will destroy this cartel from the ground up. And then she'll ruin my hotel business!"

"She'll be doing better things for this business than you have been the last 9 years," Carol said as she licked her lips.

"Says the woman who sits three cartels under me," I scoffed, "what do you think you can do to me? Huh? Force me out? I beat both of them. The best trained fighters in all cartels. You think taking me down is going to be that easy?"

"When we bring your brother into a it," she smiled, "I'm just here to give you a warning. Either give up your position, or face the consequences of your actions."

I grabbed my gun from my belt, pointing it straight at her forehead after loading it, "I wouldn't stress about it."

"Oh so you're going to shoot me?!" She laughed, "and start a full blown war? I think you underestimate how good our side is."

"I destroyed them. Without breaking a sweat," I glared, "either you get out now, and leave my family alone, or I will come for you, and burn down everything you own. While you burn to death inside."

"We'll see."

And she stood from her chair, but instead of going out the door where I stood, she stood right in front of me, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear as I grabbed her by the neck and threw her against the wall. A smile grew across her face as I held her there, "stay the fuck, away from my family." And I let her neck go. And then she jumped on top of me and hit me in the nose.

I tried my best to kick her off of me, but her legs held mine to the floor. My hands grabbed her wrists, and I gasped for air. A laughed as I grabbed her hands, "you're gonna have to do better than that... bitch."

"Fight me back. Come on! Fight me bitch!" She screamed, and I let go only for a split second, grabbing a knife from my back pocket and shoving it deep in her shoulder before throwing her off of me. I climbed on top of her, twisting the knife deeper into her shoulder. I watched her bite back a scream in pain, and it made me dig it even deeper.

"You asked me to fight you back bitch," I seethed, "and look at me now."

"Fuck... you," she muttered, and I gave her an evil smile before pulling out another knife and sticking it in her other shoulder.

"JESSICA WHAT THE FUCK!" James shouted, pulling me off of her and holding me at the other side of the door while Sam held Carol back. "Sam hold her back," he ordered, "I'm taking her to another room."

"Gotcha boss."

James pulled me out of the room as I kicked and screamed for Carol to 'come at me bitch' and 'suck my motherfucking dick'. "Jessica calm down," he ordered as he set me down in my office, "what the fuck just happened in there?!"

His hands were on my face, checking my bruises and cuts to make sure there wasn't anything too serious.

"Carol decided to show up and threaten my brother. She came to tell me if I don't give my mom the business and the cartel, then she is going to do something to Rice," I grumbled, "so I fucking shoved knives into her body to show who she's fucking messing with."

"Doll," he said with a warning tone, "you can't just start something like that with someone we are already on the top of war with."

"She fucking threatened my brother James!" I exclaimed, "you should be the first person to understand!"

"I do doll I do!" He exclaimed back, "but Danvers isn't joking! I know what she can do!"

"And you know what I can do!" I shouted, "do you not think I'm enough to do this?! Do you agree with her?! Huh?! Do you think we need new leadership?!"

"No doll no that's not what I meant," he said softly, leaning back on my desk, knowing better than to try and touch me, "I meant that she will stop at nothing to do what she wants. She's exactly like you. But you know when to stop. She doesn't."

I stood there frozen, trying to keep calm when I realized all he wanted was to protect me.

"I'm sorry James," I whispered, and I saw him give me a small smile before getting up and giving me a big hug.

"Don't be sorry doll I should have worded it better," he whispered back, "we'll figure this out I promise."

"If she comes for my brother, I kill her at any cost. That's what is going to happen," I grumbled, "and I'm killing my mother."

"And I am on your side 100%," he whispered, "now let's get you home and I'll make you dinner okay?"

"Why can't I just go and kick her ass now?" I asked, "she asked for it."

"Is that the smart thing to do?"

"No.."

"Exactly."

"Okay fine then please just take me home," I whispered, "can you make me chocolate waffles?"

"I'll make chocolate waffles with extra whipped cream and strawberries," he smiled, and I gave him a big smile, "now come on let's go."

"After you Jamesy."
