So it turns out Yelena and I didn't need two days to bake, and we ended up finishing in one. Probably because Sam kept us on track, even if it meant distracting us. So instead of freaking out for another day, her and I experimented. We made truffles!

And they were fucking delicious.

The morning of the party, I woke up in my comfy bed, missing being in James'. But thankfully I woke up to the sound of his voice in my room.

"Good morning doll," he whispered, coming to give me a kiss on the forehead, "it's time to get up."

"Mmmm," I groaned, "come lay with me."

"I can't, we have to go check the drugs remember?" He asked, and my eyes went wide as I threw myself out of bed.

"My hotel or your drugs?" I asked, and he gave me a knowing stare, "when did we decide this again?"

"Last week when you kept trying to throw eggs at me," he replied, and I laughed at the memory.

"When do we leave?" I asked, "now?"

"As soon as you're ready."

"Oh shit okay okay!" I exclaimed, running off to the bathroom to get ready. Thank god I took a shower last night so I didn't have to take one this morning. I quickly threw on some black leggings and a cropped hoodie because I didn't feel like looking all FBI and shit. You could clearly see my scar from my wound that had just healed, and it pushed me to do this even more than I wanted to. And of course, I added the necklace he gave me as a special touch. Never took it off.

When I came back out, James was looking at the photos strewn across my room, a smile on his face as he admired the one of me and my brother. It was his birthday in 2007 and we had decided to go to a game shop where he could play any game he dreamed of. And we were playing Mario Kart when someone got a photo of me trying to sabotage him and push his bike off road with the biggest shit eating grin on my face.

"He's good," I smiled, thinking about my brother in the safe spot, "I'm taking him out before middle of October."

"Is he going crazy by himself?" James asked, standing up to hand me an earpiece.

"No.. he's been singing at the top of his lungs though, I can hear it every time I call Sam."

"He's with Sam?" James asked with a smile, "out of all people! Why leave him with someone so irresponsible?"

"Cause Rice will keep him in check."

"I sure hope so. Sam's becoming soft," James laughed, and I gave him a smirk, causing his smile to drop, "what?"

"You've gone a little soft with me," I smiled, walking off before he could respond. I could hear him running after me, and when he picked me up I knew I was in trouble, "yes James?"

"I'm going soft?" He asked, "then what happened with Shang? Hm?"

"Okay. Okay. But when I first met you, your stare was so fucking blank and cold but now I'm used to you being sweet. I didn't say with others. I said just me."

"Well you're my girlfriend. Why would I be mean to you?" He asked, and I shrugged my shoulders, "was one of your exes like that?"

"I don't know," I sighed, and he set me down to look me in the eyes.

"Was your ex mean to you?"

"He just called me a bitch for not giving it up to him and a few other crude things but it's normal," I smiled, turning to head out the door but he grabbed my hand.
