"Jessica come on move it!" James exclaimed, pulling me through the forest into the pitch black trees. I held my hand on top of my wound as we ran toward the unknown, laughing my ass off seeing how excited James was.
"James I can't go much longer my stomach is starting to hurt!" I exclaimed, "I think you forget that I'm hurt!"
"And you said I was old. Maybe you're the old one."
"YOU FUCKIN BITCH IM GONNA KILL YOU," I said as I sped up to catch him. But instead of my body weight pushing him to the ground, he picked me up on his back and piggy backed me all the way to our destination.
He laughed as he carried me through the woods, "is this better beautiful?"
"I like this," I whispered, resting my head on his shoulder as my arms wrapped around his neck, "you know I could totally choke you out right now?"
"Really?!" He asked sarcastically, and after a few more steps, "I need you to close your eyes baby."
"Why?"
"Because I'm taking you to a surprise."
"You're gonna have to blindfold me James," I giggled, "you know how curious I get."
"I figured you'd say that," he laughed, placing me back down on my feet and pulling a blindfold out of his pocket.
"Yo where has that been?" I asked, and he rolled his eyes with a smile.
"Just fucking trust me okay?" He asked, and I sighed with a nod, "good girl." And he tied it around my eyes.
"We should really try this next time," I whispered, and I could hear him laughing, "you know what I mean?"
"I have an idea of what you mean," he laughed, "okay, now just walk with me."
"I'm fucking blindfolded James I can't see shit!" I exclaimed.
"that was a test doll," he whispered, grabbing my hand and leading me down the trail, "I'm going to help you."
"You better. If I break my fucking ankle I am going to shoot you," I said with an innocent smile.
"You're so nice today doll."
"I'm a fucking ray of sunshine what's with all the sarcasm?" I laughed, and he pulled me along the trail.
"How did I end up with you?" He asked himself, and I couldn't tell if that was an insult or not so I stayed silent. I couldn't see the smile on his face as he walked me down the path.
"Are you leading me to certain death?" I asked, and he sighed.
"No doll. I could've killed you several times in the span of ten minutes."
"You never know!" I exclaimed, "some people like to kill someone in a pretty place!"
"And you think I'm like that?" He asked, and I shook my head disappointedly.
"No...."
"Right," he paused, "we're almost there."
"Why do I hear running water?" I asked, and he stayed silent, "James?"
"Okay doll. I'm going to tell you to take off the blindfold in a few seconds, when I do, stay where you are."
"Oh Jesus I'm going to die," I whispered, and he kept laughing as he let go of my hand, "I'm going to die somewhere I have no idea where I am!"
"You're not going to die doll," he laughed, "now take off the blindfold."
And when I did, I saw the most beautiful sight. Overlooking the lake, I was standing on a wooden dock where James awaited me on a beautiful white sailboat that had lights strung across the top. My jaw dropped as I saw it, seeing James extend his hand out to me.
