|❁ A talk with the enemy ❁|Natasha decided to take a stroll down to the nearest lake after dinner. She wanted to clear her mind. She had also taken a book to read by the water.
The night sky was so peaceful, the way the blue had dimmed but wasn't dark yet.
The lake had a perfect view for a sunset.
A light wind flushed past her face moving her red hair to frame her face perfectly. The gentle rustling of leaves from trees and bushes. Birds chirp filling the silence.
Currently Natasha is reading Written in the Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur.
It is a sapphic romance novel that consists of the fake dating trope. Where the two main characters, Darcy Lowell and Elle Jones, fake date to please Darcy's brother and to stop him meddling in her life and in return Darcy would help Elle navigate her overbearing family over the Holidays. This arrangement ends on New years eve. The last thing they expected was to develop real feelings during the fake relationship.
It was a story she was hooked on from the first page.

Wanda was sitting alone at the large dinner table. She had already finished her food.
Her family would always sit together and eat whilst discussing their day and rambling on about something silly. The one who rambled the most was Pietro. She missed him the most. They were very close and shared most things with each other
A couple loose tears escaped her eyes as she stared at the empty seats before her.
Wanda stood abruptly before quickly leaving the room.
"I need to get out and think" she muttered to herself as she sped walked through the hallways of the castle.
She decided to take a stroll through town greeting the people who would work late or stay out with loved ones.
Some waved to their princess whilst others would have a small conversation with her. They knew Wanda needed time to grieve so they were prepared to help her through this difficult time.
Wanda thanked those who had given her advice and who had simply let her talk about how much she missed her family.
She decided to take a walk in the woods.
The peacefulness of nature was satisfying and she found it calming and helpful to stop one's mind from running.
She reached a large lake that had a perfect view of sunset. The water glistened with light as the sun would shine down upon it.
"It's gorgeous out here." Wanda whispered gleefully to herself. She vowed to come back here and paint the sunset one day.
She looked directly across the lake. She saw a figure curled up with a book and red hair. She couldn't see their faces but assumed they were pretty by the dress they were wearing.
Wanda decided to go over and investigate this mysterious person.
It took about five minutes for her to fully walk around the lake to meet the person. Wanda could tell from the side profile of the person that they were beautiful. The way their nose curved to the way their lips naturally pouted.
"It's rude to stare you know." They said looking up from the book. Wanda's suspicions were confirmed true when they looked at her. They were bloody gorgeous.
"Oh sorry. You're very pretty." Why'd I say that out loud she wondered to herself.
"Therefore I have value?" The side of their mouth quivered into a slight smirk as Wanda paled and turned red.
"No. That's not what I meant. I-" she stuttered, a small laugh interrupting her.
"I'm kidding. You're not so bad yourself." They turned their attention back to their book.
"I'm Wanda, Wanda Maximoff." Wanda held out her hand for them to shake.
"I'm Natasha Romanoff. It's a pleasure to meet you." Natasha took Wanda's hand in return, the smile on her face widened.
"It's a pleasure to meet you too. So you like sapphic stories?"
"Yeah. They're fun to read and cute. Then again maybe that's just my thoughts." Natasha said.
Wanda sat down next to her. Focusing on the water that was calmly swaying back and forth.
"It's not just you. A lot of people think like that where I'm from. I haven't read that book yet but I've got it in my library. Is it good?" Wanda asked. She shifted her focus to Natasha.
"It's great. I recommend you read it, and I'm not going to give spoilers. I'm not evil." She laughed. Wanda smiled down at her lap.
"Never said you were."
"Well that's new. Where are you from?" She asked, finally putting the book down, after placing a book mark in it.
"Oh, I'm from Bloomington, what about you?" Wanda replied, smiling warmly. Natasha's small smile dropped a bit before she quickly covered it with a fake smile.
"I can't really tell you. My father wouldn't allow it. He's not the best person in the world." She stated.
"I should probably get going. Will you be here again so we can talk more? You seem like someone I'd get along with." Wanda asked. Natasha thought for a second before nodding and standing up. She held her hand out to help Wanda up. Wanda took it gratefully.
"Maybe tomorrow or the day after. Will you be here?"
"Of course. And I'm definitely reading that book tonight." Natasha laughed and shook her hand again.
From there they parted ways, each going back the way they came.
