The party was going great. Wanda watched as her people danced with others from different kingdoms.
She thought about how Pietro could have stood right next to her, giddily watching the chocolate fountain like a hawk before being dismissed from where they stood.
He may have been older than her but was much more immature.
She laughed breathily to herself at the thought. She knew that he and their parents were looking down fondly on her from heaven.
Wanda watched as Vision danced stiffly next to a girl who had pulled him to the dance floor. A little away from Vision's poor dancing were Sam and Bucky, who were dancing together like idiots. They clearly didn't know about the girls who were giggling flirtatiously next to them. How they weren't together, Wanda would never know.
Then there was Steve. He had four drinks in hand and was looking around anxiously, confused and sad. He was clearly left behind by their friends. Wanda snorted to herself and tried to ignore the concerned look she received from a guard.
Wanda's observation was interrupted by a blonde haired man, who had a large smile on his face and another black haired man, who looked like he resented everything in the world.
"Hello, I am Thor, son of Odin, prince of Asgard and this is my brother Loki." The blonde one boomed. Voice loud and firm. Wanda smiled at him, confusion somewhat present in her features.
"Adopted." The other butted in. Wanda nodded to his word.
"Thank you for coming. I'm Wanda and I hope you enjoy yourselves." She said,
Thor smiled widely at her before bouncing off to a different area off the room.
Loki rolled his eyes and started to walk away.
Wanda raised an eyebrow at him before speaking. "I have a feeling you don't want to be here."
"Not exactly." Loki said, turning on his heel to face her. A smirk found its way to his lips. "But alas, I had no choice but to please those who have wronged me."
And with that he started to walk away.
Wanda was confused by what he meant. Did he mean her Kingdom, Natasha's Kingdom, some other kingdom in the room. Did he have a plan like her? Was he going to hurt someone?
She chased after him, abandoning her position next to the throne. She followed him through the corridors and out to the gardens.
"Hey!" She shouted, catching the boy's attention. "What did you mean by that statement?"
Loki turned to look at her, smiling sarcastically. "Nothing. It has no consequence to you."
"What if you hurt someone on my land?"
"I won't. No one here has wronged me. But I can tell someone has wronged you."
She gave him an exhausted look before rolling her eyes.
"And how do you know that? We try to make peace on my land. We never hurt people." She started moving closer to him. She hoped to intimate the prince but that didn't seem to work.
"That's not entirely true is it?" He questioned. Wanda's heart beat quickened when he looked at her as if he could read every single emotion on her face and every stiff muscle in her body.
Wanda clenched her jaw as he chuckled at her reaction.
"I'm going to help you. I know the plan. I'm just not sure you could pull it off by yourself."
Wanda scoffed at his insulting words. She folded her arms at him and glared.
"What makes you so sure I can't?" She asked.
Loki smirked at her. "Do you even have a weapon planned? How about an escape route?"
He got her there. She didn't plan that far ahead. No weapon just the image of he family's murderer dead on the floor.
"Exactly." He pulled something out of the pocket of his robe and handed it to Wanda. It was a dagger. "This dagger is laced with poison. It can easily kill anyone, let alone a ruthless king. You can use it to kill him. Behind the king's throne there is a secret exit I have used before. If you are quick no one will see you."
Wanda nodded and thanked him for his help.
"Make sure no one else gets hurt. My brother wouldn't be proud that I helped."
"Of course."
They went to part ways, checking that no one had seen the exchange.
"Oh and don't ever underestimate me." Wanda stated.
Loki smiled and raised an eyebrow at the new queen as she turned and walked back to the castle.
I like her. Loki said in his head. He knew she was capable, she just needed a push in the right direction. And he just gave her that push.
