|❁ Getting ready ❁|

The ball was in a few hours and Natasha still wasn't ready, both mentally and physically.

Her and Wanda had gotten to know each other more over the week. However it still worried Natasha that Wanda didn't know where she was from. She would find out sooner or later so why not at the ball.

But alas here she was with maids fussing over her and her ball gown. Melina was in the corner watching as the tightened Natasha's corset.

"Are you sure you want to go? I don't want to force you into anything." Melina asked for the third time that day. Natasha just laughed and rolled her eyes.

"I'm sure mother. I'm willing to go and have agreed to go." Natasha winced as they tightened her corset again.

It wasn't too tight that it hurt but tight enough that it showed off the curves of her body. Her dress was a dark grey that looked black from some angles. It was made out of silk and had a slit on the left leg that went to the middle of the thigh. The corset top of the dress had some diamonds studded along the boning to add more elegance to the dress.

"You look wonderful Natalia" her mother complimented, her accent thick. Natasha smiled at the name, it had been a while since someone called her by her real name.

"Thank you mother. I certainly didn't get father's looks."

Melina laughed. "No but you got the hot headedness."

Natasha scoffed and rolled her eyes. She was guided to sit down in a chair where someone would do her hair and others would do her makeup.

"Personally I'd say that Yelena got the hot headedness. But whatever you say"

"Do you have a plan for how you will make peace with Bloomington?" Melina walked over and sat in the chair next to her daughter whilst the maids were preparing and organising make up and hair products.

"Not really. I thought I'd just show up and make conversation and if that doesn't work at least apologise and try to make amends."

Natasha smiled awkwardly whilst Melina gave her a 'are you serious' look. She never really was good at the whole social interaction thing unless it involved a fight at the end.

"I'll see you later then, and don't put too much pressure on yourself. люблю тебя."

Melina left the room to let Natasha finish getting ready, well, to let the maids finish getting her ready really.

"Come on Wanda, you need to get dressed."

"No. Go away Sam." Wanda mumbled into her pillow, smacking away his hand.

"You are so annoying sometimes."

"Says you" Sarah pointed accusingly at him. Sam gasped and held his hand over his heart.

"I'm offended. My own sister." He wiped a fake tear off his face dramatically.

"I don't think you're that bad Sam." Steve complimented. Bucky rolled his eyes and threw an arm around Steve's shoulders.

"You like everyone, Steve. But he is very annoying." Bucky smirked as Sam narrowed his eyes at him.

"So you want to fight me Barnes."

"That would be very noble of you, Wilson."

"O' my Lord. You two are so annoying. Wanda came out already." Sarah tried to pull Wanda out of the cocoon she had made for herself.

"I'm pansexual." Wanda muttered. Bucky stifled his laugh as Sam kept poking him in the side.

"Not in that way and you know it. Also would it help if I got a frying pan out here?" Sarah questioned trying but failing to hide her grin.

Wanda pushed back her cover and glared at her.

"Is the frying pan sexy?"

"I don't know. Are they?"

Sam and Bucky had started giggling at the exchange whilst Steve tried to stop them from hitting each other every time they laughed.

"Is it the one that had a red bottom?" Wanda asked, unable to hide her laughter.

Sarah nodded, unable to speak from the giggling behind her.

"Then yes it's very sexy."

"Hey, what about Mr. Toaster over here?" Sam pointed to Vision who was standing quietly searching in the wardrobe.

"Who are you calling a toaster? Mr flower boy." Vision fired back. Sam's mouth fell open and Bucky burst into laughter, Steve just rolled his eyes.

"Where did that sass come from? Who has he been hanging out with?"

"Does it matter? We have a ball to get ready for and Wanda is still in her night gown." Sarah pointed out.

The attention was now back on the task at hand. Step one, get dressed. Step two, look fabulous.

The two most important steps of the day.

Wanda groaned and hid back under the covers.

"Buck, can you please?" Steve motioned to Wanda's bed whilst he walked over to Wanda's wardrobe.

Bucky sighed but did as he was asked. He grabbed the end of Wanda's quilt and pulled it from the bed forcing her to get up.

"Ugh" Wanda groaned, rubbing a hand over her face. "I hate you all."

"No you don't." They all answered in a sing-song tone.

Wanda smiled. Gosh this is going to be a long day. But it'll be fun nonetheless.
