|❁ Before the Disaster ❁|

Natasha stood at the throne with her sister to her left and her parents to her right.

She watched as people from her kingdom and other kingdoms danced around the ballroom.

Many Dukes had asked her to dance, to which she declined. Not that she couldn't dance, her and Yelena had been taught ballroom dancing at a young age, it was because she just simply wanted to observe.

She was watching the door of the room when it opened. Sam, Bucky and Steve walk in first, followed shortly by Vision and Sarah, and then Wanda.

"What are they doing here? They could get hurt pulling a stunt like this." Yelena whispered to Natasha.

Natasha shrugged, "I don't know. Honestly, I was left out of the loop on this plan."

"What if it's dad's idea?" Yelena asked. They looked over to their father and mother.

Melina seemed to be having a pleasant conversation with a lady, whilst Alexei drank his weight in alcohol. So it wasn't his plan then.

"Not by the looks of things."

"Go talk to them. I'll keep our parents distracted." Yelena said. She moved from Natasha's side, leaving her to fend for herself.

Natasha rolled her eyes at the back of Yelena's head, slightly annoyed.

"I saw that."

Natasha scowled at her before walking away from her position by the throne to where she saw Wanda's red hair go.

Honestly, Natasha didn't know what or why they could possibly think this was a good idea - but hey, they had only known each other for like 6 weeks, Natasha thinks.

She chased her down the hallway of the palace and through to an empty room - well almost empty, more like a meeting room that never gets used.

The door closed behind her leaving her in the dark hue and no sign of Wanda. Natasha could've sworn she saw her run in here.

The light suddenly turns on from the switch behind her.

"Hey Nat." Wanda says, voice sweet like honey and a smile that could blind anyone.

Natasha tilts her head at Wanda, even more confused.

"Hey Wanda?" It comes out as a question.

"What? You didn't think I'd miss your coronation did you?" Wanda answers, stepping closer to Natasha.

If she's honest with herself, yes Natasha did think she would miss it but can you hardly hate her, they're from two rival kingdoms and her dad literally killed Wanda's family - that sounds too straight forward but still.

"I mean yeah I guess." She spoke before thinking, which she did a lot around Wanda. It's like she would make Natasha's brain malfunction.

Wanda laughed - again her voice being so silky making Natasha practically melt - and smiled at her.

"I see what you mean. But you're my friend Nat. Of course I'd make it."

And if that statement makes Natasha want to kiss her, we don't talk about it. Especially not when her body is thinking before she is.

She places a gentle hand on Wanda's chin and tilts her head up slightly.

"Hi?" Wanda questions, a small laugh leaving her as her cheeks reddened.

"Hi."

Then that's it. Wanda's leaning in and so is she. Their lips meet each other's, albeit a bit clumsily and they're not at the perfect angle but it's theirs.

And oh god Natasha realises that Wanda tastes like strawberries and smells like lavender. She barely has time to process that she is actually kissing her before Wanda bites her lower lip and swipes her tongue over the mark.

Then she's walking Wanda backwards towards the door and Natasha doesn't stop until her back hits the wall - well door but you get the point.

Wanda deepens the kiss and brings her arms up to rest on Natasha's shoulders as hers go to rest on Wanda's waist. Wanda pulls her closer and swipes her tongue against Natasha's lips again, as if asking for permission to enter and of course, Natasha grants it.

Did she mention that Wanda tastes like strawberries because the taste of Wanda's lips against her and the slide of her tongue over Natasha's is so intoxicating that Natasha thinks she'll never have another coherent thought after this.

And boy does she want more, so she starts to kiss down Wanda's jaw and to her neck as one of Wanda's hands slides into her hair.

A high pitched whine escapes Wanda as she bites a soft spot on her neck.

Gosh does Natasha want to hear it again, and she will. Natasha makes it her mission for the rest of her life to make Wanda make that sound again.

It's her duty - her mind proclaims. Her thoughts, finally catching up to her. It's her duty.
