"Look at him. That sellout..."

I nudge him. "What? He left us for those Ducks!" Said Jason (idfk what Adam's friends were when he was a Hawk so imma make up the names).

"Shut up, man. We got a game to finish. I don't wanna hear your stupid insults and whining." I said, putting on my helmet.

We go get on the ice and line up in our teams.

I was just across Banksie.

We've been best friends for so long and I couldn't care if he had left the Hawks to the Ducks. He's still my bestest friend. Probably the bestest friend I've ever had. He's the brother I never had.

A lot of people make fun of us, saying we're dating but our feelings towards each other really isn't like that and probably would never be. If we had dated, it would be a complete mess. It really wouldn't be a good combo.

I wave at him and mouthed, "Good luck".

He gave me a thumbs up in response.

Then we got into our position and played.

So far, the ducks we're winning just by 1 point.

Then Jason told me, "He's gonna wish he should've stuck with us."

"I said shut up, Jason." I said then sat back down.

Then, during this round, Adam got injured.

"Oh my god." I mumble to myself. We all stood up to see.

I couldn't see clearly. So, I decided to get on the ice to check on him but Coach stop me.

"Y/l/n! You cannot go there. It'll ruin the Hawks reputation!" He said. "He's my best friend coach!"

"Oh, would you prefer to let down thousands of our fans or embarrass yourself in front of them for 1 person? The choice is yours! 1 person or thousands?" He said.

"I don't love thousands." I said and skated right to him.

"Adam, Adam can you hear me?" I said, kneeling next to him. I took of his helmet just to see him barely opening his eyes.

"Someone get fucking help! He's unconscious!" I shouted to the whole stadium, not caring about my language.

The Ducks' Coach came and checked on him and so did the rest of his team.

Then the paramedics came and put him on a board. They checked his pupils and everything. He must've broken something if it was this bad.

I saw him being brought away.

Before I sat back on the bench, the Ducks Coach stopped.

"Hey, Y/l/n." He calls out. I turn around.

"How come you were so worried about Banks but your other friends weren't?" He asked, very specifically.

"Well, Banks is my best friend. The closest thing I have to a brother and just because we're on different team, doesn't make us not friends." I said.

He grins and nods at the same time.

"This is no place to be screaming language like that though. You're just a kid." He said. "Yeah, I know. I'm sorry. I was just scared to lose him." "I know you were. If you don't mind me saying..." He started.

"You wanna join the Ducks instead?" He asks.

"Oh, well... Umm..." I stuttered. "I've seen you play and you're real good and fast. And, you get to be with your best friend!" He said.

I thought about it for a second. "It's completely your choice and to make it official we can just sign some papers and your on the team! After this game obviously."

"I'll think about it. Thanks, coach." I said as we shook hands and went back to our places.

I already thought about it and yes I wanted to be on the team. I just had to ask my parents, obviously.
