"He doesn't even know me!"

"I know but don't you like him back?" Says Connie. "I don't... I don't know. Maybe? I really don't know." I stuttered.

"You do. I always see something in your face anytime you see him and he does the same to you. Plus, he always wants to talk to you but you somehow magically dissapear before his eyes." Says Julie. "Stop avoiding him!"

"Alright! I'll try." I said. "Starting now. Here he comes." Says Connie, pointing behind me and I saw Fulton talking to Dean while we were lining up, waiting for the bus.

"Have a conversation with him! I don't care who starts it, just do it." Says Julie. I nodded.

Fulton then notices me and we make eyes contact.

I decided to say hi first.

"Hey. Ready for today's game?" I asked. "Totally! We're gonna bring those guys down!" Says Portman. "What about you, Fulton?"

"Yeah, I'm totally excited. I always am." He said as I smile. "You?" "Nervous but excited at the same time." I replied.

"Good. At least there's a little bit of excitement in you." He said. "By the way, you shouldn't be so nervous. You're a great player! Someone like you shouldn't be so nervous about a game." He said, making me feel confident.

"Thank you. You're quite good yourself. Besides bashing into people with your bash brother." I said and he giggles. "Thanks a lot. That made me feel a bit more excited." He said.

"No problem." I replied.

"Hey I wanted to tell-" he was about to say but the bus engine cut him off because of how loud it is so I couldn't hear him.

"C'mon!" I said to him and we got on the bus.

"Do you want to sit nex-" he was about to ask but Dean cut him off this time. "C'mon Fulton! We've got strategy to think about." He said and brought Fulton along with him to another seat.

He then looked at me and all I did was shrug and mouthed, "Another time."

I then sat next to Julie.

"How'd it go?" She asked, excitedly. "Was gonna sit next to him but Portman dragged him to sit with him.

"Ouh..." She said. "But I told him that maybe we could sit together another time." I said.

After the bus ride, we arrived at the rink and started to gear up.

I usually take a while to prepare myself so I usually am last to exit the locker room.

While braiding my hair, most of us had left besides me, Fulton and Dean.

"Hey Fulton. I'll be going first, okay?" Says Dean. "Yeah, go ahead." Fulton replies and Dean leaves.

Still braiding my hair until Fulton popped up in the reflection of my mirror.

"Jesus! You scared me! Don't do that!" I said. "Oh sorry, sorry. I didn't mean to." He says with a chuckle, making me smile.

"I just wanted to talk to you before we go." He said. I immediately because nervous and I could feel my heart pounding out of my chest.

"Um, sure. What is it?" I said. "Why don't you like me? Just generally?" He said.

I was surprised at what he said. "What do you mean?" "I mean, you just seem like you never want to talk to me. You always avoid me and all..." He explains.

"Oh no, I really don't mean that. You're a cool guy! I don't hate you, I swear." I said. "Then, why does it look like you do? Did I do something wrong?" He asked.

I sighed. "If you don't mind me saying this but, why do you care so much if someone hates you so much? You're bash brother anyway!" I said.

"I do not care if other people hate me. I care if you do." He said. "What?"

"Cause I like you." He said. "And I was just scared you were gonna be the only one that hates me and I care about it."

"Why do you even like me? You barely even know me..." I said.

"I want to." He said and that got me butterflies in my stomach.

"Fulton..." I started, "I don't hate you at all, I guarantee that. I just get nervous." I said. "Nervous? Why?" He asks.

"Cause I like you to but I was scared to admit it because I know nothing about you." I said.

His face lit up, looking back up from the floor. "You do?" "Yeah..."

"That makes me very happy. That probably gave me more motivation to play." He said with a big smile. "Well, my pleasure. I'm hopeful that we'll win this game." I said.

"So, maybe this time we can like each other while we get to know each other? How does that sound?" He asks. "Sounds like a date to me." I said.

"I do too." "Alright. We'll go out tonight. 6." I said. "I'll be ready." He said.

Then Coach came in. "You two! C'mon! We're close to starting!" He shouts and runs back out.
