"A cowboy who plays hockey? Huh..."

"Hey, anyone can play hockey. You can." Said Adam. "You calling me a wimp cause' I couldn't play hockey before?"

"N- no. That's not what I'm saying. I mean, you used to be a cheerleader, now your the one being cheered. Big difference." He said. "You're right, you're right..."

Then, we saw the cowboy skate fast from blue line to blue line.

"Whoa! Cowboy's pretty fast, eh? Not bad, not bad." I said. "I'd say he's faster than me." Said Adam.

After everyone else was showing off his moves we all ended up fighting, verbally.

After me and the cowboy dissed each other, coach blew the whistle and gave us a whole lecture.

I gotta say that cowboy was cute. I kept eyeing him down while Coach was talking and so was he to me. Man, I needed to know his name, I can't keep calling him cowboy all the time, it feels disrespectful.

After coach teaches us about teamwork, we had some fun times. We danced and cowboy, whose name is Dwayne, was given a lasso by coach.

"Dwayne. Let's round up these sheep!" And as coach said that, we immediately separated from each other as Dwayne chases each of us.

He got a few of us then he finally got me. He pulled me towards him with his lasso.

"You're a tough one to catch, missy." He said in a slightly heavy southern accent. "Yeah? Well, it was hard getting away from you." I said.

We smiled at each other and he finally let me go and I joined the others who'd been caught.

"Man, I really thought I could out-skate him." Said Averman. I didn't hear much of what he said, all I did was stare at Dwayne the whole time and sometimes he'd stare at me back and smile or grin.

"Earth to Y/l/n!" I heard someone say and I snapped back to reality.

"Yeah! Yeah, what?" I said all very quickly. "I said can you grab my water bottle, please." Said Charlie. "Oh yeah, sorry. Here." I said, handing him his bottle.

"Why're you so quiet? You're usually babbling." He asked. "It's nothin'. I'm just a little tired and I'm pretty excited to go home." I said. "Hmm, sure you're not staring at Robertson the whole time?"

"And if I said I was? What are you gonna do?" I said. "Nothing! I'm just asking..." He said, raising both his hands as a sign of surrender.

And there was a short silence before I said, "Yeah, I was staring at him. Hard to keep up with it since he's so fast. That's how I check how fast someone really is." I said.

"Pssh, yeah right."

Then we heard the whistle blow again.

"Alright guys, have a break first." Said Coach. Then they all skated towards where we were to drink.

Dwayne skates next to me and he grabs his drink.

"Hi." He said to me. "Hello again. You are hard to keep up on, really. My eyes are tired trying to keep up with you." I said.

"So, you were staring at me the whole time, huh?" He asked with a grin. "Well... Yeah." I replied.

He smiled sweetly. "It's nice to meet you. I hope we'll get along just fine." He said.

"I do too."
