ELLE WASN'T EXCITED WHEN CHLOE FIRST ANNOUNCED THE IDEA OF A RETREAT, SHE WASN'T EXCITED WHEN PACKING HER CASE, NOR WHEN SHE WAS HEADING TO THR BUS. She was even less excited—half tempted to turn around—when she saw Benji and Jesse painting the bus next to theirs.

She was walking with Emily towards their bus and of course to make the situation better, Benji called over to Emily who dragged her along with him. "Hey, Benji." Emily smiled at the boy who was awkwardly smiling back.

Jesse couldn't help but feel strange. If this was any other instance and he was still with the beautiful girl in front of him he'd be all over her, he always would—how could he not be. But here he was looking at her with a new feeling. Sadness. Loss. Anger. Jealousy. He wasn't sure why he was so fast to believe Eric when he told him. Maybe because he was immediately filled with Jealousy just at the meer idea of it happening. Maybe it was because he couldn't believe that he could have something so perfect and it be true. Or maybe it was just because he was looking for a reason for their relationship to fail.

"Emily!" Benji said excitedly.

"Listen, I think you're missing a word here." The girl pointed out, making Elle laugh since their bus currently said 'The Treble makers are going to blow up Lincoln Centre.' Jesse couldn't help but smile at her smile.

"What's that? Oh, God. No. That's not... That isn't what I meant." He stressed, dropping his brush into the paint with a sigh. He then noticed the tension between the two people on either side of them. The two who were secretly—not really—stealing glances at each other.

"Hi, Elle." Benji greeted, looking at his best friend who had looked miserable for days.

"Hey, Benji." She smiled slightly, fiddling with the sleeves of her hoodie. "Hey, Jesse." She murmured quietly and he looked up from where he'd been staring at the ground in a flash.

"Hey." He replied simply, before turning to Benji with a shrug and walking away. He was not letting her see him so distraught. After all, he was the one that broke up with her. And she was the same girl who kissed one of his teammates.

Benji looked at the girl sympathetically as the boy walked away, noticing the way she had lost the spark he saw bend her eyes when she was with Jesse. Because inside she knew that Jesse made her the happiest she had ever been. He gave her a new found sense of compassion for the people around her. And now he had been the one to take it too. "Nothing lasts for ever." Jesse sighed sadly with a small smile—not that it made any difference.

Elle scoffed and walked away from Benji and Emily to the bus a new level of sadness and anger discovered. "This is bullshit." She murmured, throwing her suitcase into the hold under the bus with a huff and then dropping down on one of the seats towards the back of the bus, shoving her headphones in and laying her head back against the chair, quickly wiping away any tears that fell while she was trying to hold the majority of them back.

"Okay, girls! Everyone, on the bus. Go, go, go! Let's go. Okay. Seatbelts!" Chloe shouted, looking sadly at the brunette who was discreetly crying in the seat on the bus.

Their group was falling apart in so many ways.
