Yo im like actually so sorry I'm late again- I got sick--
Lmao I had Rona
But I'm pretty much fine now so I don't think I'll die before I finish this book
Also, I promise to try not to go on random hiatuses like that again-
Enjoy the chapter---Roman quickly made his way home, Virgil walking close beside him at the time that they would've been sent home from school.
"So... see you tomorrow?" Virgil said, a slight smile tugging at his lips. Roman tried to smile back, but his nervousness probably overrode the gesture of happiness.
"Sure, yeah," Roman peeped, he felt jittery if he was being honest, but he hoped Virgil wouldn't think that over too much. "See you tomorrow."
Roman stood to watch Virgil walk away that time.
He really wished Virgil wouldn't walk away.Roman slowly walked into his house, his mind still fluttering and going over what the two had done together that day.
He assumed it was some kind of anti-stress mechanic his mind was using to avoid thinking of whatever was about to come once he went inside. He finally stopped in front of those damned doors.
He slowly reached out, his hand wrapping around the doorknob, turning slowly.Roman opened the door to a surprising silence.
Complete silence.
There wasn't anyone in the house.
Roman felt his heart race slightly as he quickly shut the door, walking to the kitchen counter to find a note.
A business trip came up I'll be gone for two days
Roman smiled, he smacked the note back down on the counter and shook his hands in excitement.
He pulled out the phone Virgil gave him and sent a text.
He's out on a business trip holy fuck
Roman proceeded to set the phone down on the counter, then walk around the house with his hand on the wall.
An odd thing to do nearly every time he was home alone, but it brought him a weird comfort.
He came back to his phone to see a response from Virgil.
Emo Nightmare
What
Dude that's amazing :]Yeah!
You should come here, I miss you.
He could practically hear Virgil's laugh at that message--because it'd only been about ten minutes since the two parted.
Roman waited until an agreeing message from Virgil, going out the door as soon as it came.
Roman quickly made his way out of the property gates, seeing Virgil run up to his house.
When Virgil was close enough, he grabbed Roman's arm, pulling him into another hug."Screw tomorrow, I guess." Virgil laughed, stepping away. Roman laughed with him.
"Don't pride yourself too much, Hot Topic," Roman rolled his eyes sarcastically. "I could totally invite someone else, I definitely know other people." Virgil snickered,
"Aww, you think I'm hot." Virgil fluttered his eyes jokingly.
"That's not a new joke." Roman teased, flicking Virgil. Virgil shrugged, smiling.
"Well, it's a good joke."
Roman and Virgil ended up going inside the house.
Virgil kept looking surprised when he saw another door to another room."Why would anyone need a house this big if it's literally two people?-" Virgil wondered aloud, Roman chuckled.
"No idea," He rubbed the back of his neck. "I like smaller houses anyway." Virgil nodded, still gazing around.
"Where's your room?" The emo finally asked.
"Oh-, it's upstairs." Roman waved for Virgil to follow, heading up quietly.
They stepped into the room, Virgil gaping silently for a few moments before hos eyes fell on Roman's desk.
"Are those your drawings?" Virgil asked, pointing. Roman flushed, glancing at the small stack of papers.
"Well," He stammered, pulling on his hoodie and glancing at the floor. "Yes, they're not very good, though." Virgil shrugged.
"Can I see them?" Roman felt his ears get warm and he shuffled to the desk to hand Virgil a couple of the papers. Virgil fell silent.
"I- I know they're not great," He chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his neck, he bagan rambling. "Actually quite bad, I'm not a great artist, I wish I was, I just--"
"No, these are really good, Princey," Virgil said quickly, glancing up at him, then back down at the papers. "Really good." Roman's shoulders relaxed, he didn't realize they were tensed, but now they relaxed.
"Oh," Roman hesitated, thinking of a next phrase. "Really? I don't see much in them at all." Virgil flashed him a small smile.
"I can't draw like this," Virgil set the papers back on the desk carefully. "You're really good at that." Another nervous laugh escaped from behind Roman's teeth as Virgil turned away from the desk and came back towards him.
"Is there anything you wanted to do today?" Virgil asked. Roman shrugged.
"I never do a whole lot here-," Roman murmured. "Did you have anything in mind?"
The two fell to a silence, ever so lightly less comfortable than their usual shared silence.
"We could call over the others?-" Roman offered--it was more of a question. Virgil snapped his finger.
"Good idea, Princey."
Virgil then focused on his phone to get everyone to come.
Roman was focused on Virgil. But not in a weird way, though.
Just- y'know as a friend, I look up to him. He'd never really thought about how much he liked the nicknames Virgil gave him.
It was still a little surprising that Virgil liked the nicknames he used back.
Virgil's eyes were glued to the phone screen, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, it made me wonder a little what was making him smile--what thoughts he was having.
Roman drifted my gaze to his hands--his hands were really soft. He'd only held my hand a few times, but his hands were soft.
He wears black rings around each of his middle fingers, and he paints his nails black--he usually paints them the day before the start of the school week, then lets them chip throughout the week.
He's had a little Nightmare Before Christmas band-aid on his left pinkie for like four days-And we're way into detail again, that's creepy, I;m gonna stop that--.
"Hey, Romeo," Virgil said, Roman's head perked up. "They're on their way." Roman smiled wide and Virgil's face lit up ever so slightly. "Man, you're really excited, huh Princey?-"
Okay there's chapter--
