I forgot to mention that Roman's dream had actual symbolic reference--
I do dream reading stuff- so I wanted to incorporate that-(You can skip this bolded section because most of it is stuff that you readers already know, but if you're interested in the dream and what it means then read away--)
Also, this whole dream thing is kinda long, I tried to shorten it sorry---Roman running but being unable to move his feet fast enough was referring to the fact that he had issues he was trying to avoid and ignore. The fact that he couldn't move his feet fast enough signified his lack of self-esteem and lack of confidence.
-Seeing bugs in his dream represented that he was worried about something, and the fact that they were in his hair was symbolic of the fact that something was weighing down on his mind.
-Falling represented his insecurity and lack of control--his feelings of failure.
-The first butterfly he saw that was by itself represented what butterflies represent in general. It represents Roman's creativity, joy, and spirituality.
-The point where there were two butterflies represented romance and hope for happiness in the end.
-When there was a swarm of them, it represented acceptance, growth, inspiration, etc.Summary:
It basically meant that he'd always felt stuck and trapped in a bubble with no self-confidence. He was worried about secrets getting out, worried he'd fail at something. He felt he didn't have any control of his own life.
However, the new ending to his dream meant that he still had that creativity and spirit that he had before, it was still there, he just couldn't see that at first. Then something came into his life (the.. "second butterfly", if you will-) This thing gave him hope for life and love, and he grew from that.Okay here's an actual chapter now, sorry-
Virgil's moms made dinner--it was one of the best meals Roman had ever really had.
"Are you tired enough to get more sleep or did your knee-nap cover that?-"
"Psh- Shut up, Sunshine."
"Whatever you say, Sir-Sing-A-Lot."
"Hah! Jokes on you, I like that nickname, and I'm gonna use it now." The two laughed and walked back into Virgil's room.
Virgil shut the door behind them and smiled.
"Sorry, I would've asked if you wanted to go outside or something but it's getting kinda late." Roman nodded.
Virgil sat down on his bed and looked around his room. his eyes stopped on a drawer.
"Hey, Princey, you don't have a phone, do you?" Roman shook his head, still standing in the middle of the room. Virgil stood and opened the drawer. "You can have my old one if you want. It doesn't have data or anything but we can use an app to talk or something--well- as long as you know your wifi password-."
Virgil pulled the phone out of the drawer.
"The case is kinda chipped, and it's a little slow, but I wanna be able to talk to you when I'm not y'know- right in front of you." Roman nodded.
"So... you're sure I can have it?" Virgil nodded, changing a few things on it and handing it to Roman.
"Yeah, of course. I only really kept it because I didn't wanna have to move pictures onto a new phone. It's all yours." Roman cautiously took the phone.
"Well, why don't you use it anymore?-" Virgil scratched the back of his neck.
"I kinda broke the camera-," He chuckled. "I don't even really remember how I broke it, but taking pictures is kinda important to me." Roman smiled, unlocking the phone. Virgil tapped on a Google folder and opened GoogleChat.
