Emma walked through the school halls and cringed at the sight; couples, not even couples, just boys and girls making out, hooking up in the hallway. Emma turned the corner and bumped into someone.
"Sorry..." Emma said as she looked up and saw Jason. "Oh, it's just you."
"Yeah, watch where you are going, Emma." Jason scoffed. Emma rolled her eyes as she opened her locker.
"I hate having my locker next to you." Emma said giving him a smug smile.
"Believe me the feeling is mutual." Jason said closing his locker, then leaning against it. When Emma opened her locker she saw a bouquet of lilies, her favorite flower, with a note attached to it. Without reading the note she already knew who it was from.
"Who would send you flowers?" Jason asked as he came up behind Emma.
"Huh," Emma said sarcastically. "Jason who sent you flowers again?" Jason glared at her.
"I hate you." Jason seethed.
"Believe me the feeling is mutual." Emma retorted, repeating what the boy said earlier. "So, see you at my house tonight?" both of the teen's mood changed.
"Yep," the boy responded. "What are our moms doing again?" Emma shrugged.
"I don't know, I think there are planning a bridal shower for a mutual friend." Jason nodded and then headed to his class. Emma dismissed the boy and opened the note that came with the flowers.
Dear Emmy,
Happy 12 years of friendship! I'm not sure what else to say in a letter, but I'm trying my best. Thank you for letting me play in the sandbox with you all those years ago. To be honest I'm not really sure what I'd do without you.
Your Best Friend In The Entire World,
Eric
Emma smiled as he finished reading the note. Today was their 12th friendiversary. Emma couldn't believe it had been that long since they first met, it felt like they had been friends for much longer. Erics present didn't get to Emma's house until later that day, she was sure he was gonna like it. Emma carefully put the flowers back in her locker then headed to her history class.

Emma walked over to the Matthews' house with Eric's present in her hand. They were going out to eat later, but she wanted to give him the present now. Emma walked through the back door and heard voices in the living room, so she headed that direction. She walked in on Shawn and Cory sitting on the couch.
"What are you guys doing?" Emma asked the boys, still holding the small box in her hands.
"You know talking about how stupid it is to date." Coty responded, then turned to Shawn. "Let's just drop the subject."
"All right then," Shawn said as he grabbed his stuff and headed out the house. "See ya later."
"Where are you going?" Cory asked as his gaze followed his best friend.
"To meet girls." Shawn responded opening the door then running his hands through his hair. "Is that you, Shawn?" some random girl yelled outside. Cory walked over to the door.
"Get out." Cory spoke as he slammed the door, Emma let out a small laugh. "Fine," the boy continued talking to Emma. "No girls for me. I'll just study, and get good grades, and get smart, and become a famous scientist," Cory sat back down on the couch. "And then... I'll build a wife." Emma raised her eyebrow at the boy. "I'm bored." The boy slammed his book then got back up from the couch.
"Good," Emma said following the boy. "Then you can help me find Eric." Cory rolled his eyes.
"Not you too." He complained.
