After a heart felt afternoon of comforting your friend, you helped pack his things so he can take a trip to his aunts for the funeral and to try investigate what exactly happened.

When you came back from the airport it was 10 pm, so waiting for the team to get back you decide to watch a movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was on so you decide to watch that, seeing as you've probably seen the movies at least 19 times now but you never get tired of it.

It was the graveyard scene and you knew what was about to come, but you were in tears anyway.

"Who are you, what do you want?"

Right on cue the team came flooding in dripping in sweat and blood, giving you a fright.

"Do you mind? i was trying to have an emotional breakdown here"

"What the hell Y/N, we let you stay back so you could look after Banner, not so you can have another one of your Harry Potter marathons. Where is he anyways?

"First of all, Barton, its not a marathon seeing as I missed the first three movies to my displeasure. Secondly, he went about 2 hours ago to the airport, he wanted to go back for the funeral"

"How long is he gonna stay?" Nat asked nervously

"I don't know to be honest, all I can say is that he might be there for some time"

She looks down and sighs, they all leave the room for bed. Saying their goodnights, Tony takes some of your popcorn on his way out but you couldn't be bothered arguing so you let him off -just this once.

Everyone leaves, except one person came back. In his nightware, Steve approaches the sofa you're sitting on.

"May I?"

"Uh, yeah sure"

He sits next to you and you share your blanket with him.

"So why're you crying?"

"Because Cedric just died"

"Who's Cedric?"

"A hufflepuff who's a contender for the Triwizard tournament"

"Mind explaining what any of that means?" He looks amused seeing you giggle

"Right let's restart the movie. Just watch it and you'll see" you groan.

The movie finnishes and you find yourself with your head in Steves lap as he strokes your hair out of your face.

"How are you not tired yet? You've had barely any sleep lately AND you went on a mission today on top of it"

"So haven't you, apart from today of course, but I guess i got used to it by now -unless its just another supersoldier feauture, man no wonder HYDRA wanted to get their hands on it" you both giggle.

His hands are soft and smooth, they glide gently as he strokes your cheek. It brought back memories of when your dad would put you to sleep and do the same whilst you talked about how your day had been. That was something about Steve that no one else had, and it was the sense thay you were home. Not written in bold, but just a feeling that told you, you were safe with him and there was a comfort in his presence.

"Steve"

"Yeah?"

"Do you ever miss your parents?"

"Always. I'm not sure if there was a day I didn't think about them, my old pals, my old life."
He sighs.
"I tried putting it in the ice where I was before waking up, but I guess I can't run from my past because its always gonna be apart of me. But I've got you guys now and I couldn't be more grateful for that" although he speaks calmly you can hear sadness coming through.

"You don't have to forget about them you know, your past is your identity. As much as you are Captain America, you're also Steve Rogers, and that guy is one of the greatest guys I know"

"Sometimes i wonder how I'd get through my day without you Y/N" he grins and you can feel his heavy breaths when he looks at you.

"I wish my parents were back, apart from Clint they were all I had. I remember praying every night for them just to show up at my door, like how they used to come from work with cool little gadgets for us to play with. It used to be the part we'd look forward to most every day. They always felt so guilty that they weren't there to see us grow up properly like most parents, but we didn't mind, whenever they saw us upset they'd put us to bed and hold us as tight as they could, especially dad." Your voice begins to tremble as you speak. "He'd hold me close to him and kiss my forehead before I'd sleep, telling me how much he loved me."

You wanted to say more but you realised there were tears streaming down your face and onto him, not wanting to burden him with your long hidden grief any further.

You look up to see Steve with tears glistening his eyes. Not realising his own, he begins to wipe yours away, "and he still does you know, I'll bet you anything he does. They're not gone, our parents, they're watching us and I'm sure they're proud of you Y/N after everything you've been through, to get here, if I was them I'd feel like the greatest father ever." He smiles at you through his shiny ocean eyes.

You smile back as you admire his words and his effort to comfort you. After this two-way mini therapy session you had found a new comfort buddy.
