You and Nat got out to eat for dinner that evening to get your mind off things.

You wear an outfit that compliments your pendant and get alot of looks from others. Usually you pass it off as them recognising you as an Avenger, but this time they had a look of jealousy in their eyes.

You try tucking it in but Nat stops you

"Leave it, it looks amazing on you" she points out that the diamonds are colour assigned to each avenger with blue at the top "wow they're basically his eyes"

"You know, you never asked Tony why he broke up with Pepper"

"Why should I, wouldn't it be me invading his privacy"

"Y/N you literally live for gossip"

"Alright fine I'll ask him"

After you eat you stick around for milkshakes, gossiping and fangirling over different celebrities, despite the fact you basically were one but didn't really see it.

"Y/N, I'm gonna ask you something and I know it'll be hard for you but I need your answer, okay?"

"Okayyy" you respond cautiously.

"Right just don't break down trying to answer" you give her a suspicious look so she hurries up "Taylor Swift or Chris Evans?"

You almost choke on your drink.

Of all the hard decisions you have ever made, even the ones that involve life or death, like a while back someone asked you to choose between Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth, you ultimately chose.

Taylor has been your never ending phase since childhood that you will never be able to part with. And you basically planned your entire life and wedding out with Chris Evans who was practically your husband by now since you started accidentally replacing 'Barton' with 'Evans' on documents.

"Nat, you know I can't do that. I rather you dare me to kiss a guy of your choice, preferably-"

"Banner"

"Banner? You want me to make out with Bruce. Ew no gross, no offence. He's my friend that'd just be so awk-"

"Shh!"

You turn to see where her gaze was laying upon.

Bruce walked in to the resteraunt with a woman on his arm and he takes her coat off.

Nat quickly pulls you back into the booth and the two of you spy on the doctor.

You see a spark of jealousy on Nats face. Usually when it came to Nat, jealousy included menace and smirks, but not tonight. Tonight she looked fueled with sadness that had now become contagious.

You figured Bruce must've brought his date here by secret seeing as he never mentioned any woman to you.

Nat hides her face for the rest of the night and you try cheer her up reminding her that she still has Bucky.

"Honestly Nat I'm a bit jealous of you"

"Specify yourself please" she says opening her ears to a compliment, you knew they made her day.

"At first you could say doctor and now you get to say soldier" you smirk with your dirty mind

"Except soldiers can march straight, all Buck knows what to do is complain about his backaches whenever he gets up. Honestly i feel like I'm dating a grandma sometimes-"

The door flings open. Marching in, claiming all the attention so all eyes were on him was Bucky.

"Nat what the hell I thought you asked me to pick you up, I thought you went missing or something and was about to summon the team!"

"Yeah not now! I meant later when we're ready to go" she face-palms herself.

"Hey since when were you guys here? You could've come and joined us"

"Well we didn't want to ruin your date, so..." mumbles Nat

"Date? No n- this THIS is my cousin, Jen. Jen, my friends"

You and Nat both look relieved and Bucky realises but doesn't say anything.

Shaking hands with her, she didn't feel like his cousin. The team didn't really have family so this was quite new, you figured she was a superfan seeing as she answered almost all her own questions on you being an Avenger.

"So" she turns to Bucky "I really got to ask you something"

"Go on" He raises his eyebrow and leans his arm forward on the table.

“Steve Rogers did not have a girlfriend before he went into the service,” she says, and when Bucky responds with a “Says who?”

She says “The History Channel. So he becomes Captain America and from that moment on, a symbol for America, he is rushed to the front lines, he becomes a war hero, then he is frozen in ice! So based on everything Bruce has told me" she waves her hand at her cousin "after he gets unfrozen he goes from world threatening disaster to world threatening disaster, that’s when he’s not a fugitive from the law. So it seems like he was pretty pretty busy.”

Everyone seems confused where this is going apart from Nat who decides to sick back and giggle.

"So what you're saying is?" Bucky asks slow but cautiously

"Obviously Captain America was a virgin" she bursts.

Bucky bursts out laughing and Bruce, embarrassed, face-palms himself. You went red aswell by the attention this caught, but even you had wondered this before but didn't dare to ask so not to embarrass him.

Bucky then goes on to explain he did a secret one night stand during a USO tour in 1943. Honestly, you were a bit disappointed but you didn't let anyone read your thoughts.

"Oh and um, please don't tell him I said that" says Jen

Bucky just smirks and returns to sharing his milkshake with Nat.

'Y/N you okay' Natasha texts you 'you've been staring and growling at Jen more than I did before I realised who she was'

You come back to your senses and realise Jen starts to shift uncomfortably
'Shit' you thought.

'It's the Steve thing isn't it'

You don't reply

'Oh my God. You have a crush on Steve Rogers'

'What?! no wth Nat where did that even come from'

'The second she mentioned him you went red and didn't say a word after, you just snarled at her'

'RED WITH EMBARRASSMENT! she was talking about his virginity how am I NOT supposed to get uncomfortable?'

"Um, I think I'm gonna head out now" Jen says standing and picking up her coat.

You realise how bad you both look by texting in front of everyone and your facial expressions didn't help your case.

"Oh um, can't you stay a bit longer? I barely even introduced myself I-"

"Oh no it's fine, I know everything about you anyw- I mean, sorry, I have to head back to my apartment my boyfriend's back in town"

'There you go she has a bf'

You nudge Nat and wave her off.
