The expedition was beginning soon, it wasn't an extremely important one however we always have to be ready for a change of events.

I tightened my straps and belt and lightly knocked on my gas cannister to check if its full. Once I was satisfied I headed over to the stable to find my designated horse.

"Right Ivory! This horse isn't too big for you is he?" Hange tapped the back of a chocolate brown stallion who was munching on hay, clearly uninterested.

He was very tall but I had been riding horses for a majority of my childhood and his height didn't intimidate me.

"No he's perfect thank you Section commander."

They grinned and handed me the saddle to tack him up, "Call me Hange."

I nodded and proceeded to adjust the saddle until it was comfortable, but not too loose, before stepping into the stirrups and jumping up.

"He's called Luca." Hange mounted their own horse. I reached down to stroke Lucas neck and clicked him onwards to the formation.

The gates opened and we all kicked our horses into a canter, then a gallop. I was somehow designated to the special operations squad with Eren.

They claimed it was because of my skills and 'Eren needed someone he knows with him.' For whatever reason it was, I'm proud to be apart of this squad despite the pressure.

The expedition finally started and I could sense the nerves of all the new cadets alongside me. We all split into our formation, not even knowing the true reason for this expedition, Erwin didn't ever properly clarify.

I observed our squad. Petra seemed excited and comfortable, same for Oluo, whereas Gunther and Eld looked cautious and on edge.

Eren was the most uncomfortable out of them all, which is understandable considering the pressure on him because of his titan abilities, I would not know how to handle it.

My gaze landed upon Levi at the front of the formation. He showed no emotion but it was obvious he was extremely focused on the expedition.

I caught myself staring for too long, admiring his amazing horseriding ability as well as his raven black hair whipping against the wind along with his cape.

Honestly I don't know how his hair stays so perfect.

"Focus, Ivory."

How the fuck can he tell?

I obeyed and observed our surroundings instead, making sure I don't miss a flare. Red flares shot up from our right and something immediately felt off.

My instincts told me the right wing needed help but I didn't speak on it.

Then, a black flare shot up and that bad feeling worsened. We galloped towards a forest in front of us and it was obvious that none of my fellow cadets knew the plan either.

Soon enough, we made it to the forest and I looked over my shoulder to the commotion behind us. I could hear Petra and the others talking amongst one another but I didn't take notice, which I probably should.

As I was about to turn back around and engage in the conversation, the floor started rumbling to the pattern of footsteps and a titan that was like the female version of Eren and clearly abnormal began chasing us??

Her murderous eyes kept their gaze on us as she inched closer.

"Captain your orders!?" A hint of fear was noticeable in Petra's voice, but Levi stayed silent and urged us to go faster.
