I stood up on top of the wall, clutching my side as I observed where Bertholdt was. At first glance, I could see he had just finished talking to Armin as well as fighting Mikasa, but he was now fleeing.
Why hasn't he transformed yet?
My eyes landed on Reiner who was in a bad state. It pained me slightly at first, but I ignored it and realised that must be what stopped Bertholdt, lucky for us.
Now I had to redeem myself.
I jumped off the wall and swung between the buildings towards them. My speed was increasing fast and that is exactly what I wanted, there was no way I was going to let Bertholdt hurt the others. Any deaths are on me.
As I got closer, I noticed Bertholdt was beginning to go up, which meant he was getting ready to transform. I had less than a minute to get him out of there in time.
I could see out of the corner of my eye that the others had caught sight of me and they looked like they were about to shout my name in panic, but held back since it would give away my position to Bertholdt.
A few seconds later, I reached Bertholdt and he finally saw me, which made him widen his eyes and hurry to transform. But luckily I was close enough to reach out and grab onto him, slightly winding him with the speed I was going.
The impact of our bodies colliding made me yell out in pain. I once again hooked into the wall and pressed down as hard as I could on my gas to get us there faster.
Bertholdt made the choice not to fight me, but instead try and transform anyways. We had gotten a good distance away and I was confident no one would die from his explosion now, so I could focus on my own life.
I released my hook and began to dive straight down to the ground, specifically aiming for the water. Once we got near, I let go of Bertholdt as a bright yellow light emitted from him.
With the few seconds I had, I tried to gain distance as he fell down into the water, which would hopefully absorb some of the explosion.
I then hit the water and everything all happened at once.
At first, I could feel the impact hit me like a rock, then the hot steam burned through my body and made me lose my breath. Straight after, the freezing water shocked me and all the different pain blurred into one.
And then I was gone.

Levi
Something felt wrong. I had watched as Mila stopped Bertholdt from transforming, she did it perfectly and although I was worried for her, I was proud.
However, some time had passed and we hadn't seen much else, no one had reported anything to Erwin. There hadn't been anymore transformations, which must mean there is some good news.
You better be alive.
In that moment, the situation changed. A bright light went off and I immediately turned around to look. It came from the very edge of the city, by the water, far away from the others. That must not be willingly, which means that Mila completed her job.
My heart stopped. She completed it, but he still transformed, if she couldn't stop him from transforming, then she had to get him far away when he did.
Fuck.
I looked up at Erwin who stared back down at me with a sad look. Since he was on top of the wall, he was able to see exactly what happened, and from the look on his face, I knew what it meant.
