After a real food-coma coming in our way, we put away the dishes before making our way to the sofa, already opening up the other bottle with wine as music was blasting in the background, mixed with the chatter of our voices.

I had no idea how we ended up in this position, but I was half laying on Daniel's chest, with his arm holding me in place as we talked about my life back in London. It made me start missing my hometown when Daniel talked about his quick visit there that he came back from just yesterday. I almost felt jealous that Daniel had to go there literally every second week as their headquarters was just outside London, and he had duties there in between the races.

Just as Daniel explained to me about the next race, that would take place in Portugal next weekend, I got a bit jealous at him when he told me about what he usually did when he was there for racing.

"Liz, I got an idea, and you're allowed to say no if you have too much work to keep up with. But what if you fly over there on Friday evening? To watch the race, and how my world of racing looks like? You'll be back on Sunday evening again so you don't miss out on any work days."

Nearly dropping the bowls with snacks that I had just gotten from the kitchen while walking back to the sofa, I couldn't believe his words. "You serious?!"

Daniel laughed and nodded as he sat up more properly in the sofa once I came over. "I'll fix everything, the flight, hotel and a paddock pass, all you have to make sure is to pack down some clothes."

Once I sat down, I threw my arms around Daniel, already a bit drunk, but I couldn't care. Because as much as I loved Monaco, a weekend to get away from the stress here would be just what I needed before my project would get too intense. "I'd love to!"

Leaning back from Daniel, I looked into his eyes, that were glittering as it was obviously the answer he wanted. And I swear, if I didn't was having way too much self-control, sometimes a bit too much, I would've kissed him right there and then. But I didn't. But if it was any better moment to even think of kissing a friend that you enjoyed being around, this would be it.

But I stopped myself, and with a way more smooth movement than I expected that I could manage in this drunken state, I twirled around in the sofa and laid down on my back, carefully laying my head in Daniel's lap. Looking up at his face, as he still looked a bit confused by my action before he finally relaxed, he smiled down at me and started playing with my hair.

It was something with him playing around with my hair with careful fingers, that made my eyes feel more and more heavy. Daniel must've noticed it because before I even managed to drift off, he touched my cheek and called my name.

"Liz, if you're this tired, I can go back home so you can sleep. I've already had a great time tonight, and even though I would love for it to keep on going, I shouldn't be a dick and keep you up if tiredness is starting to take over for you."

Shaking my head in his lap, I tried to stay awake as good as possible. "Stay, please?"

Waking up the morning after, I was woken up by my sheets moving as well as the mattress. With panic washing over me when I realised that I wasn't alone in bed, I turned around quietly to see what the hell happened last night.

With a hand over my mouth as I tried to stay quiet, I got memories back from begging Daniel to stay for the night. Not what I had planned on, but my drunken self thought it was a great idea apparently, and I seemed to think it was even better to beg him to share the bed with me, no matter how many times he offered to take the sofa.

With his back towards me, and my sheets barely covering his naked upper body, I got a moment to admire his tattoos that covered his arms. It wasn't like I hadn't looked at them before, but to do it without having Daniel's eyes on me and making me feel awkward for doing it, I took my chance.
