Y/N hadn't been sure what the hell she was supposed to do. She had seen the massive flying rock move into the capital and she had gotten this weird feeling... this weird feeling like she knew there was something bad about to happen soon and that it was going to make things very different in the future of... of everything, but especially of the Kingdom of Clover. And she had no idea what to do. There were so many unknown variables and Y/N didn't want to do anything wrong.

But she also wanted to make sure that things were okay. And most of all she wanted to know where the hell Mereo was. She was supposed to fight that thing, wasn't she? So why was that thing right here in the middle of the capital city? Something must have happened. It was the only conclusion that Y/N could come to in the end and she didn't like it. She didn't like it one bit. It meant that something terrible must have happened to Mereo while she was out there fighting.

There was a small chance that everything was fine and going according to plan, but how likely was that really? And now here Y/N was with a limited amount of choices and all of them didn't really work out and she had no idea what to do. She wished that Mereoleona was here, so she could talk to her about it all, because Mereo actually respected her and she usually gave some good advice and (surprisingly) made some good decisions. But she wasn't here and Y/N didn't know what had happened, so she was left pacing up and down in her room.

Her first option was to wait here and wait to see what was going to happen. Maybe everything was fine, after all. But that bore the risk of her dying without even fighting for her life. And Mereo might be out there fighting and maybe - just maybe - Y/N helping her out would actually make a difference in this fight. She wasn't sure whether she would be able to live with herself if anything happened to Mereo while she was back here, leaning back and relaxing in a mansion.

The other choice was to go out there and fight, but she also didn't want to make Mereo worry. Maybe they had the situation under control. After all, Mereo had told her to do her best to stay safe and to keep Fuegoleon safe and Leopold, too... although she didn't have that many options to keep Leo safe, since he was with the Crimson Lions and she didn't have much of a say over them. But Fuegoleon was still in this house and unconscious and she had to make sure he was okay. So leaving him alone here while the city was under attack didn't seem like an option.

While she was still pacing back and forth and debating what options she had and what she should do, she heard a loud knock on the door and before she even registered what was going on, the door opened and there was Mereoleona, in the flesh, alive and well. She was injured, yes, and there was dried blood all over her, but she was alive and she was conscious and walking. And she was back here with her, just as she had promised. Y/N didn't even know how to react.

Not that she had to react much. Mereo and her looked at each other for a few moments and then she just walked up to her, taking big strides until she was standing right in front of her. Y/N still couldn't believe that Mereo was just there, standing right in front of her at this very moment, but then Mereo wrapped her arms tightly around her and Y/N felt like a weight was just falling off her chest. Mereo ran a hand through her hair and kissed the top of her head and Y/N just felt so safe all at once.

"Mereo... Mereo, you're injured... are you okay?" she heard herself asking quietly. She had no idea where that even came from. She was still trying to process the fact that Mereo was alive and well. She brushed a few strands of hair out of Mereo's face as she nodded slowly, a smile forming on her face.

"I'm okay. I'm okay now." she answered, looking at Y/N with so much love and adoration... it made Y/N want to die. It made her want to sink into the floor and disappear, because she didn't deserve all this love. But here she was and she was getting it and she had it all to herself.

"What happened? What's going on?" Y/N wanted to know, her eyes wandering back to the floating rock above the capital city. She didn't like this. She didn't like it at all. Mereoleona sighed and looked out of the window, then back at Y/N. It seemed like things were going badly.

"It's a long story. Too long to tell you right now. But I need to go back out there to fight, okay? I just wanted to make sure that you were okay and... and is Fuegoleon okay? And Leopold?" she asked.

"Yeah... well... Fuegoleon is okay. He's still in a coma, where we left him. Leo... he's with the Crimson Lions, so I don't really know. But Mereo, you're injured. You can't go back out there." Y/N protested. Mereoleona shook her head and touched her shoulder where a lot of crusted blood was.

"I know, but I have to go back out there. I have to make sure my squad is alright. And I have to keep on fighting. I have a duty to this city." she answered. Y/N sighed. Of course. Of course she was going to say something like that. Mereoleona was stubborn and she was going to fight until the bitter end.

"You're not serious, are you?" Y/N asked. Mereolrona looked at her and sighed. So she was serious. Damn it. Y/N wanted to tell her to stay here and to hide with her, to get some time to recover, but she knew damn well that Mereoleona would never listen to her. She knew she had already made her decision. And nobody - not even Y/N - would be able to change her mind.

"Y/N, I have to... please... don't make this any more difficult than it already is. You stay here and watch over Fuegoleon. You get him out of here if things get too dangerous. And I'll make sure the two of you are safe. Okay?" Mereoleona said. Y/N shook her head quickly. No. This wasn't going to happen.

"No. No, it's not okay. If you're going out there to fight, then I'm coming with you. I won't just let you go out there and fight all by yourself. I don't want you to go to your death all by yourself, Mereo..." Y/N muttered.

"I know... I know, Y/N, but I need someone to look after Fueggy. I can't just leave him here when he's not even awake! Who knows what's going to happen to him? Please, Y/N, just... I can't just leave him here all alone. That's not fair, either..." Mereoleona replied. Y/N sighed. She knew that this was the one thing that would go against her. Fuegoleon was still in a coma and injured and they couldn't leave him here while he had no way of fighting back if something happened. It was quite the dilemma.

"Well, isn't it good you won't have to leave me behind, then?" Y/N suddenly heard a voice behind them. Her and Mereoleona turned around at the same time to see who it belonged to and there he was. The man Y/N had been watching over for the last few weeks, wondering whether he'd ever wake up again or not. He was standing right there in front of them, as if nothing had happened.

"Fueggy...?" Mereoleona asked quietly. This was the first time that Y/N had actually seen her almost close to tears. Mereo never showed a lot of emotion, but right now she looked like she was about to cry.

"I appreciate the sentiment of whatever you were trying to do, Mereo, but honestly, you should listen to your girlfriend. To be honest, we should all go out there and do our best to protect the people living in the capital. And not just the capital, I'm sure this affects people in the entire kingdom." Fuegoleon said. Mereoleona looked back at Y/N and she had never seen this kind of look on her face... almost as if she had seen a ghost. And if Y/N was honest... seeing Fuegoleon awake felt a bit like seeing a ghost after watching over him in a coma for so long.
