Jihyun is having a heartfelt talk with Jimin and Cielo. All three are laying on the huge couch in the open air living room of Jimin's house with blankets to keep them warm and a lot of snacks for them to be full. It's already nighttime, Jihyun felt bad for leaving his sister alone in their house but he didn't want to see his father right now. He did asked through a phone call if she wants to be picked up by their uncle's driver but she refused.
"Sometimes I just don't want to go back home anymore. But because of my mother's memories in that house, I found myself coming back". Jihyun spoke.
Jimin wanted his nephew to let out all his thoughts so he didn't interrupted him and just continued listening to whatever Jihyun tells them. He didn't want any of his sister's children to bottle up their feelings, problems, and pain so Jimin would talk with them as often as he could just so they won't learn bottling it all up. Because it could be too much once it burst out all at the same time.
"I hate that she's gone. It made me miss everything me and my sister once had before".
"My mother is a very precious woman. Up to this day, I still couldn't figure out what she lacked that it made her receive the greatest betrayal of the man she loved the most".
"Mom would never hesitate to cook for us even though she's too tired and exhausted. She would read us bedtime stories and never once missed a night. She would tell us how good of a man our father is. And as a kid, I would always find her praising Dad on every opportunity she gets. She's a very lovely woman, and it's an honour to have a woman like her in my life". His eyes immediately got filled with tears as soon as he remembered their sweet and happy memories together.
"She provided us unconditional love and I hate that she died that way". He said.
"No matter how busy her schedule is, she would always make time for us. Whenever I ask her why, she would always say the same thing and that family comes first more than anything else. Mom said that we're her first priority". Jihyun added.
The weight he's carrying on his heart is too heavy for a boy this young. Although he's surviving, it's still painful for him to live with it every single day.
"To be honest with you two, I fear death before. I'm afraid to leave and be forgotten. But when I lose my mother, I became curious of death. I kept on wondering if she'll be there to welcome me in her arms just like she used to if one day I finally join her".
"Life is too unfair. Why do the good people die early and be in peace, while the bad ones stay for long and suffer?".
"I never once missed a day without praying. And I would always ask for safety, good health, and long life. Still, I had lose her that way". Jimin soon embrace his nephew. He could no longer sit and watch him in pain.
"Believe me, I would give up anything and everything I have just so I could bring her back to us. But that's not how life works, my boy. It's the sad truth of death. We can never bring them back". Jimin told his nephew.
"Never let the happy memories bring you sorrow, Jihyun. All we could to is cherish her even if she's already gone". He added.
"We could only realise how much a person worths to our life when they're gone". Jimin started caressing Jihyun's back.
"So don't waste your time holding grudges on your father, he was once a good man to your eyes, so why not try bringing that side of him back?". Jimin said.
"Trust me, I hate your father with all my life. But I would never dare teach his own son to feel the same way". He told Jihyun.
"Uncle, every time I talk to him, it only decrease the hope I've been desperately holding onto for the past few years". Jihyun replied.
"He's so close yet so far. I do want him back.. but I don't think he feels the same way. Him making no efforts is quite enough for me to get the signal". Jihyun said.
A boy once full of love is now crying because he's lacking the things he once had in life before.
"Maybe not every child gets the happy family they deserved". He spoke in a low tone and cried even more.
