It was a rainy Friday afternoon two men sat inside a fairly large dining room of a very traditional looking Japanese home, sipping on cups of tea as they talked. One was a young man with long dark shoulder length hair, dark bags under his eyes showing the little sleep he got. The slightly older man who sat with him who looked to be at the end of his thirties, his blonde hair was an absolute mess with two single pieces pulled to the front. His skinny and lean frame made him look almost sickly.
"So why did you bring me here Toshinori?" The younger man asked setting down his cup. "I brought you here so I could give you this." The older male spoke as he pulled a piece of folded up paper out of his pocket. He handed it to him and the younger male opened it up to read it. His eyes widened slightly. "Why are you giving this to me?" He asked looking back up at Toshinori.
"Because I trust you Aizawa, I'm getting old and I don't want a new set of kids coming in and worrying about me. They already have enough to worry about when they step through those doors." He responded. "But this is your orphanage. I can't take care of this place like you did." Aizawa spoke. "I believe that you can. Besides it'll be easier than the hero business." Toshinori added before taking another sip of his tea. "But..why me? Of all the others you know." Aizawa asked curiously and for a moment it was quiet between them.
"I trust you. That and I know you would take care of kids better than anyone else." The older man smiled and chuckled softly. Aizawa sighed softly finishing off his tea. "Alright..I'll take care of this place for you. But I'm not going to have a bunch of kids running around until I get some sort of help." He responded.
Suddenly before the two men could finish their conversation the sound of frantic knocking. Both of the men quickly stood up and walked to the front door. Aizawa was the one to pull the sliding front door opened. He looked down to find to young boys probably no older than six. The young boy with the stark white hair held onto his friend who was shivering violently barely able to stand, clenching the white track suit jacket the other boy must've given him.
"C-Can you help my brother? I don't know what's wrong.." he said quickly. He looked frightened but he was guarded, holding his brother close and looking between the two adults warily. He didn't know if this was a good idea.
"Of course. Aizawa get some blankets and food." said Toshinori and attempted to grab the pale boy but his brother held him back, the air feeling hotter than usual. Toshinori could see bright blue flames flickering from the boy's finger tips and he stood still. "We're not going to hurt you. I can't help him if you don't let go of him." he said slowly and calmly and the older looking boy hesitated.
It was quiet besides his brother's sniffles and he stared at Toshinori for a long moment.
"Okay." he said and Toshinori reached forward slowly. The older boy let him and he picked up the pale boy gently, caring him inside with the other boy right behind, entering cautiously.
Aizawa had just returned and was observing the skittish child as Toshinori handled the other one. He noticed that the boy was taller and a little more healthy looking than his brother. His blue eyes seemed tired and Aizawa noticed a burn on his arm. It wasn't big but it was dark and purple. Third degree. It obviously hadn't healed correctly.
He kept tensing up every time Toshinori moved. His fingers twitching and Aizawa noted that the room was much warmer than before.
The boy had a fire quirk. But he didn't act like a hot headed demon like usual people that had any kind of explosive quirk.
"Careful." muttered the boy when his brother whimpered and Aizawa spotted blue flames just at the tips of his fingers. So he must have burned himself with how hot his flames must be.
"Don't worry." said Toshinori but the kid said nothing, just watched as the older man seemingly helped his brother.
Eventually the smaller boy stopped shaking and sniffling, in fact he had fallen asleep. The older boy relaxed at that and immediately pushed Toshinori away, sitting at his brother's side and frowning as he looked up at the man. "Thanks..I guess. We'll leave-"
"You're not going anywhere. He could've died if you hadn't brought him here and where ever you two stay out there isn't safe nor healthy." stated Aizawa and the boy looked defiant. "I don't care. I'm not trusting people like you around me or..him." he said, clenching his fists.
Aizawa could see fear but also determination in to those eyes and he almost smiled. "We're not going to hurt you. Whoever did though, will be-"
"That doesn't matter. Those people are gone." interrupted the kid and Toshinori looked at Aizawa, who frowned in response.
"What do you mean?" he asked slowly and the kid remained silent. But his eyes seemed glassy and Aizawa thought he looked as if he wanted to cry. "Well at least tell me your names." he said then and the kid frowned again. "It's Dabi. And that's Shiggy." he said and Toshinori raised a brow.
"Those aren't your real names."
Dabi shrugged in response. Holding back a yawn as he sat beside his so called brother, never taking his eyes off of him. "Well..there's food if you want some. And more blankets." said Toshinori but Dabi ignored him.
Toshinori stepped back and Aizawa looked over at him. "Looks like you've got your first two kids already." he said and Aizawa's heart jumped. "Yeah..I guess so. One very sick little brother and his supposedly tough big brother." he muttered and Toshinori chuckled. "I'm sure they'll warm up to you eventually." he said and noticed Dabi seeming to want to say something.
"What's wrong?" asked Aizawa and Dabi motioned to Shiggy. "His quirk is kind of dangerous. More than mine..he can destroy anything he touches. Turn them to dust. He doesn't know how to control it so he doesn't let anyone touch him. When he wakes up he'll most likely be scared so..be careful." he said and Aizawa hummed.
"You don't have to worry about that." he said and Dabi was confused. "Why not?" he remarked suspiciously and Aizawa gave a small smile. "My quirk stops other quirks. So even if he accidentally activated his quirk on me, it wouldn't work so long as my eyes are open."
Dabi's eyes widened and he looked like he wanted to bolt.
"But I won't ever use it on you two in bad will. Okay?"
Dabi didn't respond but Aizawa knew he heard.
