XXVII. Treat you better

Shawn's POV

S: It's past midnight where's Y/N at?

Shawn starts walking back and forth as the light breeze of the spring night starts giving him chills.

You had asked your best friend to wait for you at his gate at around 11pm with Chemistry notes as you have final exams in a week.

[FLASHBACK]

Y/N: Hey muffin!

S: Hey buddy! Why are you calling rn, is everything good? I mean I just dropped you home like half an hour ago...

Y/N: Yeah everything's fine, I was wondering if you could lend me your Chemistry notes for exam preps. You know I suck at Chemistry and my notes are trash...

S: Ofc Y/N, shall I bring them rn?

Y/N: Omg no dude, just have lunch and we can meet this afternoon

S: I don't think I'll manage luv, I have to go shopping for my mom...How about tomorrow?

Y/N: I'm going to my granny's tomorrow Shawn...is tonight fine?

S: Aren't you going to Sarah's party?

Y/N: Yeah me and Jake are both going...you really could have joined us dude it would have been so much better with you...

S: You know I don't like parties, and I would have ruined your RoMaNtIc TiMe:)

Y/N: Oh shut up! Anyways I'll come by after the party, is that okay?

S: Sounds great! Will get to see my bestie drunk after some time huh!

Y/N: Man you shut up or imma drown you in a tub of alcohol

S: HEY THAT'S RUDE- I won't talk to you anymore...

Y/N: You better change your mind man, gotta go now, see ya!

S: Bye!

Y/N's POV

Jake: Why the hell are we walking home? My car is still at the club's parking lot

Y/N: I need to go to Shawn's place for notes, you can leave if you wish...

J: Shawn, Shawn...oh that bastar-

Y/N: Excuse me what? WHAT THE FUC* IS WRONG WITH YOU JAKE YOU'VE BEEN ACTING LIKE THIS SINCE THE PARTY BEGAN!

J: WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME? YOU'VE BEEN ROAMING AROUND THE PARTY LIKE A H*E SHOWING ALMOST EVERYTHING TO THE WORLD AND THAT DUDE WAS LEANING OVER YOU AS IF HE'D DEVOUR YOU RIGHT AWAY AND YOU ASKING ME WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?!

Y/N: WHA- Okay baby listen, he was just a friend of mine,I HAVE EVEN INTRODUCED HIM TO YOU WTF- not to mention you were the one who suggested me to wear this-

J: You're such a h*e istg...

I was still processing what was going on when a figure jumped out of the darkness and landed on Jake's body making him stumble

As my eyes cleared the view I recognised it to be Shawn; he was staring at Jake, who now had a hand on his slightly bloody cheekbone, with flaming eyes

S: DON'T YOU FUC*ING DARE TO TALK TO HER LIKE THAT, YOU HEAR ME? GO FUC* YOURSELF!

I could hear Jake murmuring something while walking away from the spot.

I was frozen...everything was floating over my mind and my arms were not able to move.

Shawn turned around to me and covered my shoulders with his jacket

I could see tears threatening to come out of his dark brown eyes as he lifted my chin and looked at me

S: Y/N everything's fine, there's nothing to be afraid of, it's alright.

He tucked me into a warm hug, which was enough to make me feel comfort in that messed up place and mind.
I buried my face into his strong chest and cried out all the stress, all the pain and all the frustration my boyfriend had given me some minutes ago...

S: Istg I'm gonna kill that bastard!

Y/N: It's okay Shawn, leave it

S: NO IT'S NOT OKAY! You deserve much better Y/N, how dare he treat you like that when the only way you should be treated is like a queen? ISTG HE DARES TO COME BACK TO MY LOVE ONCE AGAIN IMMA STRANGLE HIM

Silence

I pulled back to look into my best friend's face, he didn't dare to look into my eyes

S: I- I can explain Y/N-

Shawn's POV

What the fuck Shawn, have you gone crazy?

I was pretty sure keeping the stare down and cursing myself internally wouldn't solve the trouble I made

It was getting so awkward that I would've rather eaten tomatoes all week long-

The awkwardness was getting out of control when suddenly I felt Y/N's palms on my cheeks...the cold of her hands melted into the warmth of my cheeks...

She then tiptoed and stretched up, letting her warm lips touch mine...

Confusion took over me for a while, but the bitter taste of alcohol in her mouth was enough for me to forget all my thoughts and respond to the kiss

Oh that sure was heavenly!
