The Fray Sisters (Book 1)

Pandemonium

We had gotten into Pandemonium and hung out on the dance floor, Simon said "So, pretty good music, eh?" Clary ignored him, she was watching a boy with blue hair who made a fuss at the door. I said "She is gone Si, a boy on the brain." he sighed but said, "I, for one, am enjoying myself immensely." I said "No you aren't, you hate this place." as Clary said, "Mmmm Hmmm." Simon still trying to get her attention said "I feel, that this evening DJ Bat is doing a singularly exceptional job. Don't you agree?" she rolled her eyes still ignoring him, I whispered "What are you staring at?" she whispered back "Girl, by the door." I looked where she was motioning and saw a gorgeous girl, with black hair, a long white dress, she was tall and slim. She slipped into the storage room with the blue-haired boy, two other boys that were tall and wearing black clothing slipped in behind them. 

I didn't like two guys secretly following that girl and guy into the room so I slipped away from Clary and Simon hurrying to the closet, then slipped inside. There were wires all over the place, I heard a boy say "You..." then heard a giant thump, I peeked around and saw the girl holding one end of a whip, the other end attached to the blue-haired boy's feet and he was on the ground. The girl said, "He's all yours, boys." There was a low laugh as a black-haired boy hauled him up and slammed him against the pillar, the other boy, a blonde, tied his hands with wire. The one holding him said "So? Are there any more with you?" the tied up one said, "Any other what?" the blonde held up his hands, showing his arms full of tattoos, and said "Come on now, you know what I am." the blue-haired boy grit his teeth and hissed out "Shadowhunter." the blonde smirked, "Got you." I was scared about what was going on, but also too afraid to run away, but also confused, what is a shadowhunter? 

So instead of running as I should I very quietly inched my way to a closer hiding spot. The blonde was pacing and said "So, you still haven't told me if there were any other of your kind with you." the blue-haired one said "I don't know what you're talking about." the Black-haired one said, "He means other demons, you do know what a demon is, don't you?" The blonde said "Demons, religiously defined as hell's denizens, the servants of Satan, but understood here, for the Clave, to be any malevolent spirit whose origin is outside our home dimension..." the girl cut him off "That's enough, Jace." the boy said "Isabelle's right, nobody here needs a lesson in semantics... or demonology." 

They don't think demons exist, do they? Are they high? these were a couple of the thoughts running through my head right about now, Jace said "Isabelle and Alec think I talk too much, Do you think I talk too much?" the other boy said, "I could give you information, I know where Valentine is." Jace glanced at Alec and said, "The thing's just toying with us." Isabelle tossed her hair "Kill it, Jace, It's not going to tell us anything." Jace raised his knife and the boy gasped out "Valentine is back! All the Infernal Worlds know it... I know it... I can tell you where he is..." Jace got pissed "By the Angel, every time we capture one o you bastards, you claim to know where Valentine is. Well, we know where he is too. He's in hell and you... you can join him there." 

Clary must have followed me in here because she stepped out and cried "Stop! You can't do this." the knife flew from Jace's hand and I went to stand by my sister. Alec said, "Whats this?" Jace said "It's a set of girls, surely you've seen girls before, Alec. Your sister Isabelle is one. Mundie girls and they can see us." Clary said, "Of course, we can see you, we're not blind you know." Jace picked up his knife "Oh but you are, you just don't know it. You'd better get out of here if you know whats good for you." I said, "We're not going anywhere, if we do, you'll kill him." Jace admitted, "That's true, what do you two care if I kill him or not?" Clary said, "Be... because... you can't just go around killing people." I said, "Besides, what's he done to you?" Jace said "You're right, you can't go around killing people. That's not a person, little girls. It may look like a person and talk like a person and may even bleed like a person. But it's a monster." Isabelle said, "Jace, that's enough." Clary said "You're crazy, I've called the police, you know. They'll be here any second." 

Alec looked unsure but still said, "She's lying, Jace do you..." I should have backed up when Clary did because when the boy managed to escape his hold and jump at Jace, I was knocked down in the crossfire. The boy had metal claws on his hands which he used to claw Jace. Isabelle flicked her whip and he shrieked and fell over, he clawed my leg trying to get up making me cry out and causing Isabelle to come to my side. Jace rolled over and stabbed him, the boy said "So be it, the forsaken will take you all." then he disappeared. Clary went to leave me and run away when Isabelle got in front of her and said "Stupid little Mundie, you could have gotten Jace killed, along with your friend over there." Clary said "She's my little sister, and he's crazy. You're all crazy. What do you think you are, vigilante killers? The police..." Jace stood up cradling his arm and said "The police aren't usually interested unless you can produce a body." He walked toward Clary, Alec picked me up and followed Jace. 

I was trying so hard not to cry but this hurt, Jace said "They return to their home dimensions when they die, in case you were wondering." Alec hissed "Jace, be careful." Jace said, "They can see us, Alec, they already know too much." Isabelle said, "So what do you want me to do with her?" Jace said, "Let her go." Alec said, "Maybe we should bring them back with us, I bet Hodge would like to talk to them." Jace said, "Oh this one is coming with us, maybe Hodge can save her from dying." Isabelle said, "No way are we bringing them to the institute, They're mundies." Jace said "Or are they? Have you two had dealings with demons, little girls? Walked with warlocks, talked with the night children? Have you..." Things were getting hazy as Clary said "Our names are a not little girl, and we have no idea what you are talking about. We don't believe in demons or whatever you..." Simon said "Clary? Tia?" Alec hid behind the door as Simon came in Simon said "Are you ok? Why are you in here by yourself? Where is Tia? What happened to the guys... you know the ones with the knives?" the haziness became complete darkness.
