"Remember, to tap the speed dial if you sense something suspicious okay? We will be coming for you" Jin said sternly.
Jin was being overdramatic and the lovebird really couldn't stand him. "Geez, you are so bossy. This was like the umpteen time, for the love of god Kim Seokjin! We got your message!" Seul grumbled under her breath.
"I must make sure everything is safe, we don't want to see any dead body tonight!" he protested.
Hoseok and Jimin hissed in sync "Hey don't jinx them!"
"What a horrible way to wish them a good luck"
"Can you be normal for once hyung?"
Yoongi rolled his eyes whilst keeping his mouth seal, he was too preoccupied fixing Seul's scarf around her neck to keep her warm. He had been listening to Jin's nag for the past few hours, and it aged him ten years older.
"Hyung, did you call the person yet?" Namjoon tilted his head. Even though he might appear calmer than Jin, Yoongi could read the concern from his voice and eyes.
Yoongi nodded "Yes, he said he will come to us when we're inside. Don't worry Joon, I will protect her" he assured the concern leader with a small smile.
"Be careful both of you" his lips were pressed into a thin line. Thankful by his members assistance tonight, Yoongi only goals were to end this for good. He wished this would give Seul the justice that she deserved.
"Are you ready baby?"
"Yes, lets do this"
———-
Seul stared longingly at the familiar device on the table, and the memories from that night slowly crept in once again. It used to be her phone, the golden phone that contained important evidence of her assault that night.
She vividly remembered that the bastard actually records his disgusting deeds using her phone. The night was pretty confusing and crazy, and she couldn't recall when or where she dropped her phone. It turned out it was with the man across her all along.
Why now?
"Where did you get this?" her voice trembled in fear. Yoongi was quick to wrap his arms around her shoulder protectively, soothing the fear away from the traumatized girl.
The man tilted his head forward, eyes fixed on the ground in shame. "That night, can you recall how you escape from Jung's private office?" his faint mutter was unclear but enough for their ears. Coming here tonight, it took him months to convince himself that he was at the wrong path with Director Jung.
He might be loyal to his employer, but humanity came first.
Seul couldn't even speak up for herself, letting the powerful man trampled on her pride. That was downright unjust and inhuman.
Her body shook, at the thoughts of the night. Yoongi knew beneath the smile that she put everyday was her only away to get over her trauma. The fact that she had to face her fear again wouldn't be easy for Seul.
"Baby, if you can't do this, you don't need to" with soothing whisper, Yoongi kissed her brow.
"I am okay because you are here with me" she stroked his cheeks as an assurance, before returning her attention to the distress man.
"Honestly, everything was blur. I couldn't remember how I made it to the door and escaped from that hell. Were you there?" she studied his expression carefully in hope he could feed her confusion.
Something didn't actually add up from that night, especially her successful escape. You could say, it was an easy escape. She didn't pay much attention to it ever since the vow that she made to protect Yoongi and BTS from the scandalous video.
"I knocked him off" he sighed deeply.
The couple was surprised by his revelation, and of course they didn't expect someone else which wasn't Jung to be there at that time.
"But you are his assistant right?"
"Yes. But, you are not the first woman that he put through those hell. I..have to clear his mess every time he did something terrible" he shook his head in frustration.
"That night it was wrong, I was on my way to check on him since he took his time longer than he did. I overheard his conversation with the man that came with you and I realized you're not a call girl. It was a clear exchange of money with an innocent woman. How could I..just ignore that?"
"I assumed it would be the same with the women that he usually calls to celebrate the night. It was supposed to be pure entertainment and sex, and you will be released in the morning. I was wrong. When I saw the bruises and blood on your face, it hit me hard. His habit to have sex with random women were no longer for self-fulfillment. Director Jung now even get enjoyment from abusing woman."
Yoongi intertwined their hand together, listening to his side of story attentively. She gave Yoongi a light squish, processing every word that he said though this was the part of her pain that she refused to unravel. However, sometimes in order for you to move on from the pain, you must face it and then you find way to overcome it.
"Jung took drugs that night, and it became part of his habit. Drugs made him become more impulsive, and he was too high to control his own actions. So, I sneaked up on him and hit him with the bottle. You were a mess, before I could help you, you were already ready to run. I didn't want to scare you, so I let you go by your own. I hid away your phone, and that day when you came with the lawyers and your CEO, I wanted to give it to you. I have no reasons to defend my stupid judgement. I thought siding with Jung would be better than leading an honest life."
"This is yours and I should have given it to you sooner, I am sorry"
Seul blinked away her tears, squeezing Yoongi hands tighter to gain strength. It never occurred to her that one day she could drag Jung and Kwon to justice. She appreciated his bravery to come out from the shadow, showing her the light to her already miserable life.
"Thank you for this. It must be hard for you to fight with your own conscience. I have no intention to look back at my past and fix this mess until you showed up. I can't thank you enough"
"I don't deserve the thank you, I believe I am just as guilty as Jung. And, I am willing to make my stand at the court for you. So please reopen the case and let the laws do their job. I know it would be tough and complicated, I don't want to leave in guilt for the rest of my life. Fight for your right" he was genuine with his words. The moment when he took the courage to reach out to Yoongi, he vowed to lead an honest life.
Touched by his words, Yoongi and Seul exchanged a glance while nodding slightly. "Will you be alright?" Yoongi said for the first time, ever since they met few minutes ago.
"Don't worry, I find somewhere safe to hide. He wouldn't be able to find me. And, before I forget, this-" he pulled a brown envelope from his bag, presenting it neatly on the table. "The agreement that you made with Jung on the day of the meeting and the tape" Yoongi froze.
That was the cause of the mess, the tape of him and Seul. For no reason, it suddenly became a dangerous weapon.
Noticing Yoongi stoic expression, he smiled warmly "This is the only copy that Jung had, I made sure of it. Don't worry Yoongi-ssi, you can get rid of this one. Jung has no more leverage against you guys. So, don't be scared"
"Thanks man, we are sorry for the sacrifice that you have to make in order for you to deliver this. Thank you so much"
"Don't be sorry, losing a job is nothing compare to what Jung had done to you. Call me if you need my help. Also, keep the burner phone. Let's get in touch using that"
Yes, there's always light at the end of the tunnel. Having hope that justice will prevail, is what they ever wish for.
