Chapter 13 : Revived

Dazai did not think, his rage invaded his body and he turned around and hit the person with phenomenal force. The guy cried out in pain and fell to the ground.

"Liam..." called Dazai in a low voice while he looked at the man on the ground.

"Who?" asked the person after a moment of silence, the answer made Dazai even more angry. How dared he pretend it wasn't him? He would never be able to fool Dazai , he was sure it was him, no matter if he was supposed to be dead.

"You asshole!" yelled Dazai and took the guy by the collar to force him to stand up. He opened his mouth to shout at him but when he saw the man's face, he suddenly found himself speechless. It was indeed Liam, but something was wrong...

Liam was a year older than Dazai, but the man in front of him was a young boy in his 16. He looked the same as he last saw him more than 6 or 7 years ago, he didnt changed at all, he didnt got any older. But how was that possible?? The young man looked at him surprised and confused when he suddenly realise something.

"Oh god.... You idiot! It's not Liam! I told you it was a fake name!! Its Raphaël, Ra-pha-ël" he said angrily emphasizing every syllable of his name. But the burnet did not listen to him, he was still in shock, he looked like if he saw a ghost.

"You- Liar!!"  Dazai got even angrier thinking the guy dared to lie to him about his death and he hit the young man in the face. But how could he be fooled by him?  How did he manage to believe his lies? He didn't know which was more ridiculous, was it that he really got fooled 6 years ago or did the guy come back from the dead?

He shoved him hard against the nearest wall, Liam had his head lowered and didn't resist at all, he almost looked like a real corps. Dazai was in panic, he was grabbing Liam's collar with him two hand as he tried to figure out what was going on.

Was he using someone's ability to make himself look younger? No... He touched him so it should has been canceled... Was it some other technique to confuse him? Or maybe it wasn't even him? But he admitted it was really him, or maybe it was someone impersonating him... but for what purpose? Why Liam? Why now? Why after Chuuya's death?? Why couldn't he see through his plans? Why can't he predict everything as usually ??

"Damn it!" Dazai cursed and punched the wall with his fist right next to the young man's head. Liam didn't move, was he really dead? was it just Dazai's imagination ?

He suddenly had doubts and with the hand that was on the wall he reached for Liam's chin and with the tips of his fingers he lifted his face. The young man was pale and now that he was watching him carefully, he looked exhausted, there also was a bright red mark on his left cheek because of Dazai's punche. He was breathing and his heart was beating...so...

"How?..." whispered Dazai looking at the young man in front of him. Liam slowly opened his eyes and looked at Dazai with his green eyes.

"I..." Liam finally spoke but then fell silent again, he seemed uneasy in this situation and looked like he won't say anything more until Dazai let go of him.
Dazai took away his hand from the boy's collar but didn't let his guard down, if Liam tried to run away he would definitely break his legs.

"I'm... not a liar..." said Liam looking straight into Dazai's eyes. The brunette had calmed down but now his anger was filling his mind again, it wasn't because of what Liam had said but because he couldn't find any lies, no deceit in those green eyes. They were pure and honest, he was even more mad that Liam actually looked confused by Dazai's actions. How dares he look so surprised when he was supposed to be dead?

"You-... Arent dead?" asked Dazai. Liam smiled innocently which made the other even more angrier.

"You dummy, could a dead person talk? Oh no maybe you just went crazy and now you can see ghosts" he said with a teasing smile. Dazai actually didn't took it as a joke, he started thinking that he really was the crazy one. Seeing Dazai seriously thinking about it, Liam couldn't help but laugh.
