Chapter 30 : Dead wish

Atsushi was hiding behind à building looking at the port mafia headquarter not knowing how to actually do the job that Ranpo gave him. He sighed giving up and turned around to leave when-

"What are you doing here Jinko?" Said someone as they pushed Atsushi against a wall.

"A-Akutagawa !? You scared me! What are you doing here ??" Asked Atsushi surprised.

"Are you stupid? Wait you are... I should be the one asking you this" he said glaring at the white haired boy.

"I-" Atsushi hesitated for a moment but he didn't had any other choice to find out if the port mafia is involved in theire case.

"Actually i would like to ask you some questions, please ?" He asked with an embarrassed smile, he was sure that Akutagawa would say no but he at hoped that he would be able to leave without a fight. The black haired boy looked around then back at Atsushi.

"Let's go somewhere else first" he said as he started to leave. Atsushi was stunned that he accepted, he quickly followed him and they went to another place.

"So what do you want?" Akutagawa asked coldly.

"Well it's a little complicated to explain and i don't even know if you'll answer will be the truth but-"

"Just say it already !" Shouted Akutagawa annoyed.

"Does the port mafia know about Chuuya being alive?! Are you involved in it or not ?!" He asked not daring to look at Akutagawa. But after a moment of silence he decided to do and was surprised to see the shock on Akutagawa face.

"You- There is no way i saw him dying there..." he said trying to make sense of what he just heard.

"So you didn't knew..." replied Atsushi with relief. 

"What is it all about? Are you making fun of me by telling such a lie?!" Replied Akutagawa as he grabbed him by the collar.

"No! It's true let me explain!" Said Atsushi and Akutagawa glares at him before letting him go. Then Atsushi ecplained everything what happened, about the weird murder case and what happened when he met Chuuya.

"So Dazai has something to do with that... Where is Chuuya now?" Asked Akutagawa.

""We don't know that yet but Ranpo suspects that Dazai is hiding him now somewhere..." answered Atsushi.

"Alright i'll look for more informations on my side" said Akutagawa as he was about to leave.

"Ah wait! Please can you keep it for yourself ?!" Shouted Atsushi and Akutagawa looked back at him and nodded. Atsushi sighed then decided to go to wait for Ranpo in front of the bar he was in. When he arrived there Ranpo was already outside waiting for him.

"So how did it go for you?" Asked the detective with a smile.

"Not that bad, the port mafia actually has nothing to do with it and don't know about Chuuya" answered Atsushi.

"I knew that actually " replied Ranpo and Atsushi looked at him surprised.

"Then why did you- whatever, what did she say?" Asked Atsushi.

"Well she said she didn't knew Raphaël Millet, and that she met Chuuya thanks to a friend named Liam" answered the detective.

"Liam? Oh i do remember that she mentioned thah name! She said something about him being an old friend of Chuuya and Dazai. Now that i think about it she also said something that it's thanks to him that Chuuya is here and that he was the one to take care of him after Dazai left like if nothing happened... We need to find him!" Said Atsushi.
