Chapter 5 : Sweet smile

Dazai was sitting with his friends drinking a glass of whisky. Oda and Ango saw that he hasn't been as usual since he arrived, he didn't talk or drinking , he was just playing with the chunk of ice in the glass.

"Hey, are you okay, Dazai?" asked Oda and the brunet sighed.

"Sure..." reply Dazai still focused on the chunk of ice.

"Come on, tell us what's wrong" Ango insisted but Dazai didn't answer

"Sigh~ Is this about Chuuya?" Oda asked and there was a little reaction from Dazai to the name mentioned. He looked at his friend with a bored expression.

"There is nothing wrong ... Certainly not with that stupid brat ... I don't care about him ..." Dazai replied angrily.

"So what happened with Nakahara?" asked Ango and Dazai looked at him annoyed.

"I just said that-"

"Did you have a fight again?" Oda asked, cutting him in his sentence.

"Huh- No-"

"He got drunk and broke something?" asked Ango.

"What? He is too young to-"

"You're too young to drink too but you don't care... Did he invite a girl without your knowledge?" Oda asked and Dazai glared at him.

"Sigh... It's none of that..." He said lying on the counter.

"I-I invited him to lunch but ... but he refused ..." the brunet finally said with a sad expression.

"Oh, so that's the matter. Well, did he tell you why?" Oda asked.

"He just said he couldn't and some time later he left nicely dressed." Said Dazai.

"So, are you angry because Nakahara declined your invitation and left on a date?" Ango asked as Dazai glared at him.

"Of course not!" yelled the brunet.

"Oh I understand now" Oda said as the other two turned to him.

"You are jealous" he said.

There was a silence as Dazai repeated the sentence in his head, his cheeks began to turn redder and redder.

"W-What ?!" the brunet yelled as his face turned completely red.

"Yeah, that makes sense" said Ango taking a sip of his glass.

"No that doesn't!!! It's completely stupid!!!" Yelled Dazai.

"Why should I be jealous about this? It's not like I love him or anything..." he whispered with a sad smile.

"It's okay Dazai, it's okay" said Oda patting his head.

"You'll find better," said Ango, putting his hand on his shoulder.

"Huh- What !? S-Stop that!" yelled Dazai burying his head in his arms.

"Oh, hi Chuuya!" said Liam as the ginger walked toward him.

"Hi, how are you? " asked Chuuya with a smile.

"I'm fine and you?" he asked back. "Good," Chuuya replied. There was an awkward silence cause none of them know what to say.

"Well, shouldn't we get going?" Chuuya asked breaking the silence and Liam nodded.

The two boys entered the restaurant they were standing in front of and sat down at a table. After they ordered their food the silence came back. It was hard to find a topic to talk about, so Liam decided to ask simple questions to learn more about the ginger, like 'what your favorite colors' and all. After a while the food came and they started to eat, they also continued to talk and laugh.

"So what should we do now?" Liam asked as they leaved the restaurant.

"Well, I haven't got anything planned for today, so why don't we go for a walk?" said Chuuya and Liam nodded with a smile and they start walking.
And it quickly starts to get dark as they talk about anything and everything.

"So, do you have a girlfriend or a boyfriend?" the brunet asked and the redhead looked at him surprised.

"What if I do?" Chuuya said with a smirk.

"Well that wouldn't be surprising," Liam replies, looking at a passing car on the road.

"And why so?" Chuuya asked as he tried to figure out what the brunet was looking at. Liam didn't answer right away as he was still looking away from Chuuya. The redhead tried to catch his gaze when the brunette turned to him suddenly.

"Because you're pretty," he said. They were really close, too close according to Chuuya, who immediately backed off.

"I don't have a girlfriend or boyfriend," said Chuuya. "I only have one boring roommate..." he whispered under his breath but still Liam heard him and smiled.

"You have a roommate?" Liam asked with interest.

"Sigh ~ Yeah unfortunately he's so boring and unbearable ... I hate him so much!" Said Chuuya annoyingly as Liam looked at him complaining.

"You say it but actually you care a lot about him ..." he said looking ahead as Chuuya looked at him with wide eyes.

"I can tell by the look in your eyes, it's obvious you don't hate him like you claim it" he says looking at him with a sweet smile. Chuuya stopped walking, still surprised as he watched Liam walk away.

"I would like to take you home but I have something to do. Call me when you are home" he said without looking back at Chuuya. And he left leaving Chuuya alone.

Dazai opened the apartment door and entered. "Chuuya?" he called but there was no answer, no Chuuya.
He took off his shoes and coat and walked over to the sofa to lie down.
"Where the hell are you at these hours?" thought Dazai irritated. It was silent and that silence made the brunet sad somehow, it felt so empty without the redhead. Without yelling at him for doing nothing, even his punch missed him.

"I'm hungry Chuuya ~" Dazai said knowing that there would be no answer and that terrified him, the think of behind left alone really scares him.

"I know, I'll go cook something" he could hear the ginger answer. Wait- Dazai straightened up quickly and saw Chuuya in the kitchen already starting cooking. The brunet looked at his roommate who smiled gently at him. Chuuya doesn't smile often but his smile was always so sweet and warm when he did. Dazai stood up and walked over to Chuuya. Arrived in the kitchen, he stood behind the ginger and hugged him from behind.

"What are you doing ?! Dazai ?!" asked chuuya confused with a slight blush on his cheeks. The brunette didn't respond as he buried his face between Chuuya's neck and shoulder.
They stay like that while Chuuya prepares food for dinner.
