While Bucky walked me home he explained about how he came across me, dad asked him if he got me to school okay which sparked a search after his long night of work.
I couldn't help but feel loved when he said he was worried about me, he avoided looking at me on our walk home too which made me a little shy.
"Did you want to have dinner tomorrow night? I'm pretty exhausted and I wouldn't be good company."
"Okay, it's probably for the best." I said looking at the floor of the elevator.
"I'm not trying to avoid you, please don't look at it like that. I've just had a very frustrating night and need some rest, honestly if it wasn't you that Steve brought up I would have just passed out on the couch in your apartment."
"No, I know. I'm also just a little paranoid now about Loki, since he can make himself look like anyone I'm just a little on edge." I sighed as the doors opened.
"Call Peter over, there's no way Loki could match that kids energy. Tell your dad that you two have some kind of school project to do then get him to stay over, then you won't be along either and I'll be across the hall if you need me."
My heart fluttered, he'd thought all this out already. His plan would be sound proof as long as dad said yes, we walked down the hall as I pulled out my phone to text Peter.
"Thanks for the idea Bucky, you better get some rest." I said texting.
"Don't worry about me, just let me know if you need me." He chuckled deeply.
His metal arm wrapped around my shoulder pulling me closer to his chest, he pressed a light kiss to my temple before just holding me there for a moment.
"Be good." He whispered before letting go.
He moved to his apartment door shooting me a weak smile before disappearing behind it, I grinned to myself before walking over to my door.
The apartment was silent which was honestly a relief, part of me wanted to sleep the rest of the day but I knew I'd just wake up over tired.
As I walked to my room I checked my phone, there was actually two texts I'd left unread.
'Hey, sorry but I've got a thing with MJ after school. Hope you understand, I can swing by tonight though while I'm on patrol? - Peter'
I smiled at his text, I'm glad he started asking her out after school.
'Don't stress, enjoy your night out. :) -Liz'
As I pressed send I fell back onto my bed, my phone now resting on my stomach as I laid there in silence.
For some reason since I came to the future I thought I'd have an exciting life that would be filled with adventures with my dad and the Avengers, now I see I'm just stuck being a teen in the twenty-first century with a stalker, a crush on a guy way out of my league and a dysfunctional family.
My eyes grew heavy as I laid on the soft blanket, the cooler air slowly seeped into the room making me pull the blanket over my body.
There was moments that I fought with myself to stay awake but it didn't take long for me to fly off to my dreams, dark colours flooded my vision as I found myself wandering in a dimly lit street.
The cobblestone path under my feet was smooth unlike most in New York, warm streetlights lined the pathway urging me to follow them off into the distance.
As I walked the world around me slowly constructed, street corner shops and tall buildings filled the space where there once was mist.
"Hello dear." I heard Loki's voice chime.
