"So, is everything ready for tonight?" Steve asked.

"Yeah, at least from what everyone's said." I said looking over at him.

We were currently out for lunch after organising Liz's birthday party, Steve had been super nervous about it all since he didn't get to celebrate her sixteenth last year while she was at school.

"Do you think she'll like it all?" Steve asked as he looked across the table at me.

"This is Liz we're talking about, no matter what we do, she will complain that we didn't need to before she thanks us and enjoys her night." I laughed as I thought about the first party we threw her.

"I just know that we've been fighting a lot recently, I want this to make up for a lot of it." He sighed as he pulled his hat down over his face a little more.

"Here you are, if you need anything else just shout." The waitress said putting our food in front of us.

"Thanks." Steve said looking up and smiling at her.

Her eyes went wide for a moment as she got a better look at him, I rolled my eyes as she gasped softly.

"You're Captain America." She said softly to him.

"Here we go again." I mumbled.

Steve kicked my shin making me wince a little, he looked back to the woman who was now searching in her apron for what I could only assume was her notepad and pen.

"I'm so sorry, but would you mind?" She asked as she held her notepad and pen out to him.

"Of course, though, maybe just don't mention I'm here." He chuckled as he signed the notepad.

I started eating while he chatted with her briefly, I found myself finding it hard to grip the cutlery with my gloves on making me more frustrated. Steve bought me some new gloves today as he noticed mine were wearing pretty badly, though they were more for show than practicality.

Dropping my cutlery I pulled the gloves off before tucking my left hand closer to me on the table before I tried to eat one handed, Steve was still chatting away which meant his food was left unattended.

Leaning forward I grabbed one half of his sandwich and took a bite before putting it back, he looked over to me with a lifted brow making me look back to my food.

"Wait, are you The Winter Soldier?" The woman asked.

With a deep breath in and out I looked up at her trying to contain my frustration at the name, she looked a little taken back as she looked at me closer. A small smile appeared on her lips which made me ease up a little, I finished my mouthful before nodded.

"Would you mind? Also, my co worker is a huge fan. Would it be okay if I got them to serve you two? Free desserts on us." She flustered as she held her notepad and pen to me.

I looked over to Steve as he smirked at me, it was rare that I was recognised and when I was it ended with people walking the other way.

"Yeah, sure." I said before taking the notepad off her and signing under Steve's fancy signature.

"Thank you so much, I'll send him over soon. Please, enjoy your meals." She said taking her pad back before walking off.

"Oh god." I groaned as I pinched the bridge of my nose.

"That was interesting, looks like you do have fans after all." Steve whispered across the table.

As I looked up at him he had a shit eating grin on his lips, I rolled my eyes before continuing to eat. Steve often had people recognise him and when I was with him no one would even notice me, in a way I preferred that.
