It was the first of March twenty-fifteen and things were changing, dad was discussing with me about going to school properly rather than home schooling which I didn't like the idea of, I wanted to stay with my new found family.

My family wasn't perfect, but it was perfect to me.

Thor, when he was around, felt like an older brother, Clint, Bruce, Bucky and Tony were practically my uncles even before I met them with the way dad would talk. Natasha was the closest thing I had to an aunt and even that was a stretch, but I loved her anyway.

In the last year I'd learnt so much from everyone, it was actually pretty great getting to know everyone better too. I learnt that Clint had a family and a daughter who was a few years younger than me, every now and then I got to go to Clint's house to see his family and even get a few lessons in archery which I adored.

I was currently sat in the lounge of the upper floor with dad as he went through school options since I'd adjusted well enough to life in this era, I didn't want to leave though.

"Look, just for a year." Dad pleaded.

"No, I'm not going to school. Especially not so far away, I won't be able to see you guys." I protested.

"Elizabeth, you need to. We have a lot going on right now, it will be just for a year. If you don't like it I promise you can come back and go to school in New York, this school is great though." He said putting the brochure in front of me.

"Dad, is this because it's an all girls school?" I asked lifting my brow.

"This isn't about boys, this school has heaps of benefits for you." He sighed.

I sighed and looked at the brochure again, I heard footsteps behind me before Nat came up beside us.

"Talking about school again?" She asked looking at the brochure in my hands.

I nodded before handing it over to her, she looked over it and smiled before looking at me. We'd been back and forth about it for a week now with me always saying I didn't need to, I hated the idea of being in an all girls school too since I wasn't exactly lady-like like my dad hoped I'd be.

'Europe? What a place, you speak most of the languages so why don't you want to go?' She asked in Russian.

I'd been learning all the languages I could with Bucky and Nat, I found it so cool and honestly I seemed to pick it up pretty well. Mom was always good with languages, I guess it runs in the family.

'It would be good to stretch the muscles, but I will be so far. One year?' I said looking up at her sadly.

"When you get back, I promise we will let you come on missions finally." Nat smirked.

"What? No, Nat you can't make that call!" Dad shouted at her.

"Deal." I said looking to dad.

"No, it's too dangerous. You'll be too young still, not happening." He said looking at me.

'Do you think he'll crack?' I asked Nat.

'I'll give it a go.' She smirked.

"Steve, can I talk to you?" She asked walking over to the kitchen.

He rolled his eyes and got up, I smiled and waited while they went to talk.

I didn't want to go to this school, it was over in Germany which was further than I'd like to be from everyone. Building a support structure only to have me leave it felt pretty cruel, but I also knew that I needed to learn about the world I was living in especially since even in a year I was blown away by how much the world had changed in fifty odd years.
