The sound of loud music and people laughing use to be music to my ears, seeing smiling faces as people danced the night away.. That's just not the case anymore.

People started getting rowdy as the night went on leaving me to contact the security team and help escort them out, Tony hired me for the night after seeing my advert online since he realised it was my number and thought it would be funny. While he thought I'd just come along to the party like normal it was still a job, I wasn't just going to take his money when there was work to be done.

"Hey, you seem to have your head in the clouds again. Try to relax a little, yeah?" Sam said pushing up against my shoulder.

"I'm still working Sam, I will be till three." I said sipping at my scotch.

"Why do you drink if it does nothing for you?"

"Because I still like the taste, enough of it will eventually get me drunk though."

"Come over and relax, you've even got a fan by the looks of it." He chuckled, gesturing to the group.

I looked over at the afterparty that was down to about thirty people, most of them were pretty drunk at this stage and the ones who weren't were at least laughing along with everyone. My eyes were stuck on Jesse as he talked with Liz, I felt like I was looking at a video as the two of them interacted.

"I'm surprised Liz didn't win the contest, then again, Webs gave her a run for her money with the Iron Man suit." Sam laughed.

"A hundred bucks says she bought it for him though." I said before finishing my drink.

"No way she bought it, I'll take that bet." He said holding out his hand.

I looked down to his hand before shaking it, you don't know Liz at all.

He began walking over to the group and I followed close behind, Liz had just started talking with Sharon and I could see the moment she looked at her Liz wanted to leave the conversation.

"Liz!" Sam shouted.

My jaw clenched as he called out to her, there was still some Shield agents here I didn't know so that put me a little on edge with her name going round. It was bad enough she got up on stage dressed as Steve with her shield, though I guess she was also in probably one of the safest environments possible if she was going to be around others publicly.

Her head moved to find Sam as she clearly wanted to stop talking to Sharon, I didn't blame her.

"Hey, what's up?" She asked as I stared down Sharon.

"Where did Pete get his suit?"

She looked over to Peter who was now talking with Jesse and taking photos of the group, I smirked to myself knowing I was about to win the bet.

"Actually, I got it for him. Thought it was appropriate for the two of us to dress as our mentors, I'm honestly surprised I even found it." She said as her smile brightened.

"Damn, why do you always have to be so nice." Sam chuckled pulling out his wallet.

I held my hand out waiting for him to put the hundred in my hand, as he did I lifted my brows at him and waited for him to say I was right.

"Fine, you know her better. Happy?" He asked.

"A little." I said looking back over to Liz.

She was already looking at me making me smile, I could tell she put a lot of effort into her costume as it really showed. It was a little weird seeing her with blue eyes though since I was so use to her soft brown ones when she'd look at me, she looked away from me as I realised I'd probably made her uncomfortable from examining her outfit.
