Chapter 28

Friday came and I was nervous to say the least, Tony had apparently set up a dinner reservation at Per Se which I wasn't going to complain about.

As much as I wasn't happy that dad told Tony I guess it wouldn't have taken long for everyone to find out, though Tony would be the one to spread gossip to the others about me first.

I'd already texted Jesse to meet me outside Per Se at seven so now I just needed to get ready, dad insisted that I dress nicely since we were going to be at a high class restaurant.

"But dad, I don't really have any nice formal wear that isn't from the forties." I huffed as I went through my walk in.

"Yes you do, just wear the dress that you wore for your welcome back party? That's pretty." He said leaning in the doorway as I pushed through my hung clothes.

"I guess, but don't you think that's a little too flashy?" I asked pulling it out and holding the dress against me.

"I think its perfect, maybe a little revealing but it looks great on you." He smiled.

"Fine." I said before walking past him and throwing the dress on the bed.

"I'll need to have a shower, I'm sweating up a storm." I said grabbing some underwear and a bra of similar colour to the dress.

"Okay, if you need anything I'll be in the lounge room." He said walking out of the room with me.

The front door opened as I made my way down the hall, I rolled my eyes as I heard Sharon's voice calling out getting the two of us.

I shut the bathroom door and locked it before stripping down and turning the shower on, I untied my hair and combed through it with my fingers roughly before stepping in the shower and wetting my sweaty body.

Dad had been pestering me about Jesse all week and was driving me crazy, asking me questions about him I didn't even know the answers to.

Jesse and I had been trying to text more but we both had pretty busy schedules, he did drop by my work yesterday for an hour or so which was sweet before he had to go off to work himself.

The knock on the bathroom door startled me making me shut off the water instinctually, I checked outside the shower curtain to see I did remember to lock the door.

"Yeah?!" I yelled.

"You going to be long?" Sharon asked through the door.

"I'll be out soon!" I shouted before turning the water back on.

I picked up my body wash to find it was empty making me groan loudly in frustration, Sharon had been moving her things in the last few days but somehow she had forgotten her bath products every time meaning my stock was slowly disappearing.

After washing myself with what little body wash I could squeeze out I rinsed and shut off the water, wrapping my soft towel around myself I got out and tried to dry off quickly.

"Can I come in?" I heard Sharon again.

I rolled my eyes before putting my hair up and getting into my bra and underwear, she lightly knocked on the door again before I swiftly swung the door open.

Her eyes widened as she looked over my mostly exposed body, I was not in the mood.

"You have five minutes, if you're not out by then I'll knock the door down." I said sternly before walking to my room.

As I passed the lounge I could imagine dad's awkwardness since I rarely had nothing on, though thankfully he didn't ever feel the need to tell me I needed clothes in my own house.
